SOUND OFF! RA Mail Stalkers/DoD"NERDS"

Oh good Shellz, maybe it was just a California run commercial ( I'm a Newport Beach/Huntington Beach sandrat originally) I'm thinking with the snow storm and other stuff that is unusual this year, we might not hear until the end of March-Mid April just like they say. Thanks for your continued support -officer

Newport/HB huh? We are right down the road near Mission Viejo...lol Heading up to NB tonight for water polo. Wish we could live there...so pretty.

And soon this waiting will be a distant memory. You'll hopefully spend your time worrying about your kiddo doing something stupid before R-Day. Now that is stressful! (and by stupid I mean along the lines of breaking a limb while wrestling with the little brother, or better yet, breaking a limb by tripping on the laundry that litters his bedroom floor that I (umm, I mean you) told him to pick up at least 10 times yesterday....

Ok..done with the walk down memory lane. hee hee :shake:

Oh how I wish that was our problem! :shake: I would love to think that they removed the info because the envelope is in the mail!!
:(

Not an appointment letter, just a medical qualification letter.

Admissions Emotions

shearsfam - Thank you for that update. Although, now I wish that had been the case for you and you had the "good" letter.

OK. So, I am showing my true emotions today. I am completing the admissions process today at my job and calling all of our applicants who are being offered a position in our program. Every time I talk to one of them I start to cry when I get off the phone. They are so excited and I am so excited for them that my emotions get the best of me.

I keep thinking about how happy we would be for our d to have an answer. I had no idea that calling to notify our own applicants would do this to me. I'm beginning to think that I am just not the woman for this job. Oh, but I do love it. It is so much fun to hear their excitement!! :yay:

Oh! I finally got to check the status today on DoDMERB!!! Not that it gave me any useful information, but at least I got to see it. :thumb:

Date change

Well no change on status but the date changed again. Whatever that means.

Same here! Just changed recently I looked at it early this morning and no change just checked date changed to March 4th

Today for the first time I was able to access DoDMERB and view the "Alternate" status.

Our daughter had a remedial that needed to be updated and after talking to a very helpful person at Concorde I checked the status again to be sure the medical qualification was updated.

Well, as I was reading all of the dates and confirmations, I happened to see..."Offer Extended" !!!!!

Can this be real?!? We can't believe it. :yllol::shake::yllol:

Thanks everyone! I keep checking the status to make sure it's still there. I'll feel a lot better when the letter gets here.

fairwinds - I'll keep wishing and praying for you and everyone else too! There is still plenty of good news to come. :thumb:

Unbearable

I think I checked 20 times today (like it helps to check that often) with no change in status. So frustrating!

my dodmerb starus say's "in process" and my date is Sep 23? why does mine not say alternate:confused:

BM3 Miller,

It's a mystery! I don't think any of us have figured out the Dodmerb lingo. At first we thought "alternate" status might be the EA's that got deferred to RA, but that has been proven wrong because some EA's still have "in process."

We really don't know if there's any rhyme or reason to the terminology!

I wouldn't worry too much about it! Good luck!

Hi all...I was just reading your thread. My son went on DoDMERB today and saw his status was "alternate". He couldn't wait patiently for a letter so he took it upon himself to call admissions. (I was impressed) This is what they told him: it meant he was deferred from EA to RA. He was an AIMster (week #3) so, I'm going to agree that the DoDMERB lingo has no rhyme or reason.

I'm happy to hear that we're not the only stressed household! My son runs to mailbox everyday, holding his breath, awaiting something!

Best of Luck to ALL! Sending positive and happy wishes everyones way

Congrats!

Congrats to all who have received the good news, and hang in there to those like us who are waiting. I'm new to this forum, and like many I am excited and hoping for my son to gain an appointment. As a proud Kings Pointer, it's hard to imagine my son at USCGA, but I am so anxious for him. His older brother is currently a Navy "Doc" serving with the Marines in Marjah, so this forum is of a different set of anxieties than which we see on other forum concerning the Marines and their families. On the other forum, we all wait for Homecoming. On this, we all wait for the big white letter! Hopefully we will see both very soon. Best wishes to all.
