Yes, my DD is still waiting. Yesterday a friend who already received the QNS letter was offered a 3 year AROTC scholarship to the backup school having not even applied for one. Hoping that remaining on the NWL does not jeopardize that opportunity for those still waiting for a decision from WP.My DS is still waiting for word either way. Anyone else?

Thanks! Deposit paid and backup plan in place for DD. Just would like some news one way or another at this point. FFR is aware of situation and knows DD is more than willing to get last minute appointment. Wonder how many are left on the NWL...Having had a friend and classmate receive a June appointment, I understand the need to keep some applicants hanging on. The wait is just excruciating to experience first hand. Thankfully, my DS has a solid plan B. Best of luck to your DD!
How late in the game did your DS get offered the AROTC scholarship? Was he on the NWL much longer than today's date? Aside from signing up for June ACT test already, not much can happen on the reapplication side until we're told that we're done for this year's class. Our portals remain unchanged and active for 2019.Those 3 year AROTC scholarships can come later...my DS was offered one last year...a very sweet deal. First year you have to pay, regardless, but scholarship would've paid a good bit for next year. It's happily back in the pot for someone else to get now...work hard on those re-applications!
It was about this time last year when he was notified. You have to be QNS first...but the letter came from ROTC "high command." Fortunately, one of the West Point moms is married to the top guy there and he was happy to clarify all my questions about it. It is even more valuable now, since many of the senior military schools are cutting back on the number of contracted cadets. There's really nothing you can do besides ACT and SAT registration and prep. Take both, study, work out, improve CFA. My DS's CFA improved tremendously after working out all summer and constant practice. Go ahead and work on essays, see if MOC's have nomination packets for 2020 up yet, tweak those essays. Finish senior year w/ A's.

DD emailed RC last week (RC on vacation), and spoke to FFR as well. Told to sit tight for now.For those with no info at this point, have your candidates (or you if you are the candidate) called the RC to find out status? There is absolutely nothing wrong with doing so...as long as it is the candidate that does so. IME, the RC's are candid about your prospects.
DS heard back from his RC and he is on the bubble. At this point in the game a direct appointment isn't likely, but he is still on the list. Going forward we will be focusing our energy on VTCC and his 4 year Army Scholarship!
No change in DS's status since my last post.Anyone else still waiting to hear from USMA either way? My son has reached out to RC for information by email and phone and has had no return communication from him. No change on portal.
I hope that he will, but in this moment he seems to want to maintain his educational momentum by focusing on the Plan B school and seeking a 3 year ROTC there. The sting of the disappointment still smarts; I'm sure he will revisit the question of how much he wants the West Point experience, and take action from there. He must've been really close. Will he reapply?
