Do ALL cadets competing for EA have to sign the form or is it just the Non-techs? (My DS has PFA tomorrow AM it's almost midnight in Florida too late to ask him)
This is a hypothetical question:
Could my DS (tech) have his first choice be civil engineering (non-rated) and his second choice be Pilot (rated)? Or does your rated choice have to be your first choice?

Not sure how it would work if they got a rated EA but were not medically qualified for any rated AFSC's. I'm assuming the AF is making sure they're medically qualified for at least ONE rated AFSC before letting them volunteer to compete for a rated EA.
No, field training is not different for those going rated as compared to tech/non rated. The difference is how many of each tech, rated, nurse, language, and non tech officers the AF needs/wants to commission in 2 years. The cadets will be competing against other cadets with the same career (in the above categories) aspirations. For example if the AF expects to need 20 Mandarin speakers to commission from AFROTC in 2 years and they have 30 Sophomore Mandarin speaking candidates for FT, they will select from those cadets that have indicated that they want to compete on the foreign language list. FWIW - the AF has been using this method to select nurses for FT for a few years now.IS Field Training different for those going rated as compared to tech/non rated?
DS called tonight and said that all the cadets competing for an EA this year at his Det had to sign a memo at LLab today indicating if they are going rated or not. DS said that all non tech cadets except two at his Det indicated that they were going rated. DS said that cadre advised that EA packages were complete except for the final PFT score. They were suppose to of had it yesterday, but due to bad weather it was postponed until next week. Any one else hearing anything on EA's and the rated twist?
