USNA 2025 Waiting and....Waiting

Dedicated to those waiting for appointments, ROTC scholarships, PGL’s, deployments, COVID vaccinations, schools to reopen, hugs from relatives, “normalcy” and everything else that’s worth it. Get in your car, find an open road, turn the volume up & hang in there.

Checked my DoDMERB portal today to see that my status changed to "Waiver Granted"! USNA CIS was updated shortly after. With that, my application is complete along with my LOA, and I'm hoping to hear from my MOC soon as well as get the official letter from USNA! Good luck to everyone still waiting!

So just to ask does anyone think that USNA Admissions will extend the application notification date?

Admissions hasn't put out any statements yet, but I wouldn't rule it out as a possibility. If you have an LOA pending medical, an admission could come in as late as the day before I-Day, from what I've heard.

From what I have heard, they appear to behind on their applications. Not sure if that's true or not.

I always enjoy re-applicant success! I need a Grit Emoji.

Great job grinding through the process again! Congratulations! Salt air in your future!

So let's say the academy folks haven't made a decision before 15 April. Your DS/DD has an appointment with say Airforce prep and that is only valid until 15 April. If you accept Airforce prep can you then switch to Navy direct appointment if comes in May?

Here is my “I want to help but have no experience” response: if you accept the prep school offer and pay a deposit, wouldn’t you only be out the deposit if you don’t actually enroll? Academies can be a little different in terms of completing paperwork that might bind you to a larger military commitment, but prep schools are still civilian in nature, aren’t they? If you have an offer expiring, I would accept and plan to attend, but if USNA later offered, that becomes an option! See above disclaimer about my lack of knowledge or experience, though. Good luck!

I would check with someone in USNA admissions to ensure that committing to Airforce prep does not count as a binding commitment. Better safe than sorry.

Is there anyone here from VA? I saw that there has been one appointment already and that candidate also received the Pres Nom (in addition to Sen/MOC). I wonder if that was one of the reasons for the earlier decisions and why no other VA candidates have heard yet. I do realize that it's completely possible that VA Candidates have heard and may not have posted or might not even be on this board. I have discovered 30 new grey hairs over the last couple of weeks... LOL

to all those waiting on pins and needles, hang in there

this year is different, and many decisions are coming out later than normal. in previous years, nearly all of my candidates received a decision by around April 1, with a very few going into the second week of April. A few might end up on the waitlist, and stay there till May or June.

this year, as of this morning, only 1 out of more than a dozen candidates i've interviewed who are 'complete pending review' has received a decision.

best of luck, hopefully not much longer

Thank you for posting this. It does give some peace of mind with the renewed hope.
