I seem to recall some people on the forum reporting that they received a TWE. I don't entirely recall what thread but I do remember it, somewhere in my nogginJust curious, but has anyone received any rejections yet or any TWEs? Or maybe they'll give all of rejection decisions at the same time? who knows
You seem to be forgetting the pre 5 pm portal check, the post 5 pm portal check, the pre and post-dinner checks and the middle of the night wake up and maybe there might be something different checkIt’s almost time for the after 5pm portal check! To be followed later by the (just in case) pre bedtime portal check. Time is sure moving slowly this week!
Lol, here we are “limiting” it to:You seem to be forgetting the pre 5 pm portal check, the post 5 pm portal check, the pre and post-dinner checks and the middle of the night wake up and maybe there might be something different check

What's your advice for a DS who just got waitlisted to USNA (1st choice) but has been accepted to USMMA (close 2nd choice) and has to accept waitlist for USNA by 1 week and?/or USMMA by May 1st?I took to using “alternate plans” in recent years. No sense of “lesser,” just a different path.

Is there a reason one couldn’t accept both? And then if pulled from the USNA waitlist, notify USMMA?What's your advice for a DS who just got waitlisted to USNA (1st choice) but has been accepted to USMMA (close 2nd choice) and has to accept waitlist for USNA by 1 week and?/or USMMA by May 1st?
As I think about it... can you accept both ? I don't know enough about USMMA to know what commitment you have, but accepting USNA waitlist doesn't bind you to anything. If you accept both, I would anticipate you could decline USMMA if you get accepted to USNA. Couldn't hurt to ask USNA Admissions Counselor whether that is acceptable. What's your advice for a DS who just got waitlisted to USNA (1st choice) but has been accepted to USMMA (close 2nd choice) and has to accept waitlist for USNA by 1 week and?/or USMMA by May 1st?
I'm in the same situation! No problem, proceed on course! What's your advice for a DS who just got waitlisted to USNA (1st choice) but has been accepted to USMMA (close 2nd choice) and has to accept waitlist for USNA by 1 week and?/or USMMA by May 1st?

yes, Waitlist, Prep school, Academy is non binding. Free to not show up on I-day. BUT remember to notify other SA when you flip, so they can give your spot to some one else.As I think about it... can you accept both ? i’d say probably yes. but i guess it depends on your district.Should we be expecting to receive a TWE at this point?
Well, I think I just went from still somewhat hopeful for DS to now fearing the end is near. He did not receive a waitlist offer today and has not received an appointment. He has 3 nominations (MOC, Senate, and Pres.), is medically and physically qualified (recruited athlete), and has grades & test scores I could have only dreamed of when I received my appointment. I'm not sure what more he could have done, but his alternate plan is a good one that he will be proud to execute.
It both helps and disappoints. Thank you and good luck.Just posted this in the Wait List thread but thought it was applicable here too:
"This year the United States Naval Academy (USNA) received over 16,000 applications for the Class of 2025. The candidate pool was among the most competitive ever, and the Admissions Board recommended a near-record number of candidates for appointment. We have offered appointments to approximately 1,364 of those students; we expect 1,170 students to accept our offer and enroll at USNA. If fewer than 1,170 students accept our offer, we will then offer admission to additional students who have been put on our Wait List."
The above information is directly from USNA admissions, the below text is my own interpretation of said information.
A lot of people are asking about TWE's, I would assume from the 'we have offered' statement that most, if not all, appointments have been handed out for this cycle. That being said there are likely appointments that have simply not processed in people's portals or have not been sent out yet. However, I do believe that USNA knows exactly who those 1,364 students are. We may not know it yet and the recipients of the appointments may not know but USNA certainly does. You will know your status when USNA directly tells you and anything you come up with by yourself is just guesswork- which to be honest I used a lot during my application process and will probably use going forward as I wait on the Wait List
Hope this information helps some of you guys!
