No money to be made off natural immunity. Always follow the money.Correct. Lots to unpack. How about we look at it a bit at a time? One of my issues is the hyperfocus on making everyone get the vaccine without acknowledging some of the science. For example, she indicates she had covid. Some very large studies have indicated that prior covid immunity is substantial and greater and more longstanding than any vaccination. Hard to respect the process when everyone wants to ignore the science. Other countries have acknowledged the impact of prior covid. Why does the CDC or our leaders ignore this? Hmmm.... Makes you wonder and not trust the process. I admire her for sticking to her guns.
One should weigh the risks of the vaccines vs the risk of healthy people with natural immunity. You don’t see some of the tragedies from the vaccine in the press like Atlanta Hawks guard Brandon Goodwin, for example.Correct. Lots to unpack. How about we look at it a bit at a time? How many cadets died from covid? She was a friend of mine and I chatted with her about this from time to time. I respect her choices and am impressed by her tenacity to stick to this perspective (much of her personal case was religiously-motivated) however I will forever believe it to be an interesting hill to die on.
We were well-educated about the vaccine prior to deciding if we wanted it or not. West Point was aware of the inevitable DoD mandate and definitely did pressure us to get it--but I believe that was reasonable given cadets were going to be separated from the Army if they continued to deny it. Macdonald was correct in that there was a lot of peer-pressure to get the shot, because it was seen as a small sacrifice for the betterment of everyone else. Whether or not her choice was actually selfish, it was perceived as such.
Her argument of natural immunity was flawed--reinfections were common even at the Academy during the height of the pandemic, and she had the virus early on, long before the new Delta Variant put the Corps in a chokehold. From my personal interactions with her I believe she was using this argument to mask the religious justification (which is fine, just odd).
She was a promising, motivated cadet, who wanted to branch infantry and serve in the highest capacities. I respect her choice, but disagree with it. I'm saddened by her departure.

It wasn’t. It just didn’t make those who patented everything related to corona money. Why was her argument about natural immunity flawed?
When we start to believe that God Almighty shares our opinions, we will justify doing extreme things... like flying planes into towers."Because I follow a God who demands absolute truth, I cannot participate in something that has been built on a mountain of lies."
would that the officer corps had such integrity.
oh wait, "just following orders"
Here is the video, I wanted to see it.Hannity has 3 young cadets on tonight who left, at least in part, over the vaccine. Talk about well spoken, articulate young women.
