Man do I feel your pain ! But this post made me laugh for a second at least!DD just got "waitlisted" - today. I was all set to give the Dad speech for Getting in or getting Rejected. I did not have a "waitlist" speech. More wait time!
If you have figured out the waitlist speech, please share. Here’s my list so farDD just got "waitlisted" - today. I was all set to give the Dad speech for Getting in or getting Rejected. I did not have a "waitlist" speech. More wait time!
She's handling it pretty well - Moving ahead on plan B / Its really me that has to deal with what it all means,..If you have figured out the waitlist speech, please share. Here’s my list so far
• you’re in it until you’re not
•keep the PT going to stay prepared
•tend to plan B all in
•and start beefing up application for 2027 to be even more competitive
•give more hugs to mom because this process is giving me more gray hairs than I ever wanted
There should be a a PDF that explains the waitlist process with an email address in red that states to accept your waitlist position. This is what my DD told me last night .I got waitlist somewhere else as well and they asked me to accept/decline my place on the waitlist. I don't see anything like that on the USNA portal; is that how it's supposed to be?
Congrats. My son was waitlisted yesterday, and today received an email congratulating him for being offered to go one year to a foundation school. He seemed happy about it…which makes me happy too, although I don’t understand why he wouldn’t have made it the first time around…
the only thing I could think of is that he is from MD, a very competitive area with tons of applicants. Let’s hope it guarantees him a spot for next year. and also I wonder if he is still waitlisted for this year or not.
Congrats! It's a golden ticket for next year and an extra year of growth makes great leadersMy son was waitlisted yesterday, and today received an email congratulating him for being offered to go one year to a foundation school. You are right. Tons of excellent candidates not enough spacesMy son was notified today that he was waitlisted. I was excited about it because he wasn’t outright denied. However he isn’t excited at all. Just more discouraged. He says that a waitlist means nothing because he’s still in the same exact spot he’s been since the beginning. Maybe I’m looking at it wrong but I feel like it’s a step closer to an appointment. To be waitlisted is a good thing. It means they like what they see but just don’t have a definite spot unless someone withdraws from the pool. Am I wrong?
I think your son is being pragmatic. This is @Capt MJ's post from the "Waiting" thread. Hope it adds some insight. My son was notified today that he was waitlisted.
