Congratulations on your DD's decision. My DD will be there, too.
BTW, there is an Instagram page the NAPSTERS are posting to for NAPS. Within a week your DD will receive a really nice binder with a Certificate saying she was appointed to NAPS and on the other page a Navy collage. Most of the Instagram kids take a picture holding it. Finally, there is a NAPS Facebook that has the schedules and lots of pix of midshipmen doing what the Academy plebes do, marching, exercise, running, sports, award ceremonies, etc.
Forms:
She should see about 5 pdf forms to download from her CIS portal. Fill out, sign and upload. One is somewhat tricky, the Police Record Check. Your DD has to physically go to your local law enforcement and have them fill out the lower half. There is typically a small fee for this. For us it was $10. But finding out what organization was responsible for this and where to go took a little detective work.
More forms:
If she hasn't already, she needs to go to the NAPS site and download the forms and instructions. She will need to enlist in Navy reserve NLT June 30th. This is not trivial, she will need to bring originals of HS diploma, birth certificate, SSN card, drivers license, passport along with the forms. My DD called around to 3 enlistment offices and they said they did not do the NAPS enlistment. She finally called the USNA POC and he said yes they do, it is in their manual. Since they don't get credit for the enlistment, I think they blew her off. We finally found one that did officer enlistment. Why? Because the oath has to be done by an officer. Not the usual petty officers at the enlistment offices. The USNA said any active or retired officer can administer the oath from any service, not just the Navy. The NAPS POCs said if there was any questions or push back from the enlistment office to have them call NAPS and they will guide them thru the process.
Finally, if like us you plan to drop your DD off on July 25th you will have to fill out the visitor form for everyone 18 and older, separately, and send back to NAPS at least 4 weeks prior to your visit. They will want the driver's licenses of each person. You DD is exempt as her PTR papers will get her thru the gate.
