No, unless it doesn’t resolve within the timeline the Doc specified

    Waiver Timeframe?

KaraK - Have your son, the applicant, send me your email and his complete name to dodmerb_SAFROUMS@yahoo.com. Until I see his specifics, I can’t comment on it accurately. But reading between the lines, I believe it may be his specific DQ vs a Cadet Command issue. Standing by.....

    What to Expect at Exams

DoDMERB Deputy Chief here. More comprehensive than a school/sports physical. No labs. Heatherg21 is the closest to the truth

    Potentially Pilot qualified

I really don’t know. As I stated, DoDMERB is not involved in those determinations. We Q or DQ, they determine PPQ or not. So, what I would recommend is two-fold. I would review the literature for the current Class of 2024 admissions information and two, you could call your Admissions...

    Question about nomination

Many states coordinate diligently to expand the states noms. Some states don’t coordinate at all. Still some states coordinate “loosely.” I know that doesn’t help, but that has been my 28 years ago of experience with this issue.

CORRECTION for DODMERB AND USAFA: To my comments regarding AF (USAFA) medical waiver authority

USAFA remains the medical waiver authority for the Class of 2024. The new AF medical waiver authority will NOT be implemented for USAFA until the Class of 2025. Thanks to MidwesternMan for my drilling down in the weeds.

    Waiver Question

”Easily” is a term that is non-applicable. Each case is looked at individually within each Service and program. In the past, I stated publicly and privately, that of all the Academies and ROTC programs over the last two decades, from a non-scientific perspective, AROTC turned out to be the...

I have returned = I'm the Deputy Chief of DoDMERB for the past 28 years.

Not the Bat signal, but close , but I still haven't been able to reactivate MullenLE. At this stage, maybe it would be just as well to affix 10 year member to this address and indicate "formerly known as MullenLE---like Prince:)

    tattoo

I'm the Deputy Chief DoDMERB - The real deal is: DoDMERB identifies all tattoos, body alterations, piercings beyond "normal," to all SA Admissions Offices and ROTC Program HQs. Unless there's a medical aspect to those (very, very, rare), the Admissions folks make their Service determinations...

    Medical Question

It is not...depending on when you get it. For SAs, if you underwent one before 15 May, you'd be good to go...providing there are no complications.

    Potentially Pilot qualified

I’m MullenLE, the Deputy Chief, DoDMERB. My MullenLE account is not working right now. The real answer is PPQ is a designation used by USAFA Admissions, based on results of DoDMERB medical screening. Vision is NOT the only factor for PPQ. For many applicants, not all, it is a factor to be...

    Waiver Denied AFROTC

Recoveringhelicoptermom - Hmmm. Maybe the recovery is not going so well eh? :) I’m the Deputy Chief, DoDMERB. Have your DD, not you, (Here to help your recoveryo_O) email me at dodmerb_SAFORUMS@yahoo.com. If she provides me her complete name, I may be able to shed some light on the situation.

    Question Beginning DODMERB

I'm MullenLE - Deputy Chief, DoDMERB. My MullenLE account is not working right now. Jaglvr may be correct and just the fact that he hasn't been offered admission, doesn't mean a thing. If an SA downloaded him to us, it's because they feel he has merit to be considered a valid applicant. So...
