Army ROTC 2023-2024 2nd Board

Hey does anyone know when the DoDMERD process begins? Do they put all scholarship winners into the system, or only after you return your scholarship acceptance form?
From the DODMERBs tab under additional information, it looks like they will email you within the next 30 days to schedule your exam.

I had 1230 superscore, 3.87uw gpa, and afjrotc corps commander. I received my 4 year. As long as his essays really show he wants to be an army officer, he’ll definitely get something from the board.
Thanks. My son's unweighted GPA was a 4.0, lettered in track and cross country, volunteer work, senior leader, but his SAT was 1170. Those standardized tests have always been a challenge for him. He REALLY wants to do ROTC and will still go for it without the scholarship. Fingers crossed something comes thru though.

My son applied in time for the January board, and it looks like he is Boarded/UC. Congratulations to all of the winners! What an amazing accomplishment and opportunity! My son has his mind set on serving in the Army whether he receives a scholarship or not. I'm bellyaching over the scholarship results far more than he is honestly. I'm thinking about his application and wondering if work hours are weighted the same as extracurriculars are. Does anyone have any insight on this? He works 25-29 hours/week.

Just wanted to say thank you to the folks that posted on this board. We are kind of new to the military processes, so info share was comforting and useful. Congrats to those with DSs/DDs that got scholarships, and good luck with the third board to those that missed out this time. Hang in there!

Our DS already had medical cleared for AFROTC and just got credit for it. Now waiting for him to clear "Administratively Qualified" - No idea what that entails!.

Where are you seeing this? Are you talking about in his DodMERB portal? Or in the ROTC portal?

I think I know the answer to this, but is there any way to see how a candidate scored on their PMS interview?

DodMERB portal. The portal has a table showing the prior medical exam and review thereof for AFROTC. Just below it is the review for the AROTC. It seems like Army just reviewed the AF exam, and gave their OK. There is a letter that can be downloaded showing medically qualified status for Army ROTC.

So "Administratively Qualified" is also an item there in DoDMERB? Forgive my ignorance, but we are just starting this whole process so I have no idea what we are in for!

The Selection Status on the scholarship offer letter is - Pending Medical Qualification AND Administratively Qualified.

Maybe I am reading it wrong and - only medical qualification is pending. :)

Yeah, I saw the same thing. I also have no idea what "administratively qualified" means. But maybe it's stuff like passing your ACFT, meeting height and weight requirements, successfully enrolling in your chosen school, etc. Probably just a bunch of procedural BS.

Help me gauge my stats to see if I have a fighting chance of getting a scholarship at least three year I don’t expect a four year
sat score 1070
GPA 3.29
PMS interview 38/40
Counselor recommendation
Four years of marching band

Your SAT and GPA are your obvious weak points.

Great job on the interview!

Honestly, I don't know. My best guess is you are bunched up with hundreds of people on the OML and it will really come down where that final scholarship cutoff line falls after the third board.

Just won a 4 year AROTC National Scholarship! I've also already been accepted to USMA, USAFA, and USMMA, but I'm going to wait until I hear back from USNA to make a final decision on which commissioning route to take.

Well, that's a pretty impressive set of options at your disposal already. I'll be shocked if you don't ultimately end up at a SA, but you should certainly enjoy considering all your possibilities!

I also forgot to mention I took five AP classes

So should my son reach out to ROO at his top three schools listed to let them know he got AROTC scholarship and ask them approve it? My son already got accepted by all those schools.
He should contact the ROO at his #1, Let the ROO know what schools it was approved for and then ask to have it transferred to that school. Let the ROO and PMS work it from there.

My understanding is that all you have to do is accept one of the scholarships offered by the March 9 deadline. That basically "holds your scholarship" in your name.

Then, at any point after that, if/when she is accepted to the school she really wants to attend, then you can submit a transfer request to see whether the scholarship can be transferred to that school.

I'd say pick her top school from among your current options and then navigate from there. And congratulations!
This.
