USNA Class of 2028 Waiting and Speculating

Thank you to those willing to share their TD. I know it is disappointing and it would be easy to keep it to yourself, but it helps others get a peak into what is happening in admissions, so it is a very generous thing to do. It shows your character and I am confident you will all be successful wherever life takes you. Best wishes!

What does pending indicate though? My showed CPR back in December and then switched to Pending in January. Does anyone have any idea what that might've meant?
DS did the same thing - he was CPR after everything was complete back in the fall.... then turned to Pending forever .... until today.

DS in Delaware still pending (2 Noms, SS attendee, CFW attendee, & DODMERB waiver). He has a USMMA appointment, on waitlist for USCGA, and no word from USAFA.

This is the 3rd time my wife and I have gone through this waiting game. 5 times if you add myself in there because I applied twice (Falcon Foundation scholar). By far, this time has been the most difficult.
DS here also in Delaware....3 Noms, SS attendee and no waivers needed as he had passed all medical tests and everything else....still Pending...

I haven't posted here in a hot minute - my last post was probably right around this time last year during the big purge - but I just wanted to say that I have empathy for everyone who got the TWE today! I applied to USNA three times, and unfortunately ended up with the TWE every year (after being waitlisted the second year, that TWE definitely stung a little extra). I know it sucks big time, but it doesn't have to be the end of the road if your goal is to be a naval officer! I'm now happily on the PLC path and working with a fantastic team of Marines to get to OCS. There are so many ways to commission - and at the end of the day, you'll be an ensign/lieutenant just like everyone else.

Based on previous years, do additional appointments come out after the “turned downs” start or do we think they are done with appointments at this point?
I mean there isn’t a specific timetable, but they all come out at different times. Some candidates can get TWEs late, and others early, and others can get BFEs as late as June (that’s rare)

The wait for us is over. DS was Turned Down today. Though it is not all bad as he did get the NROTC National Scholarship offer so it is still a great path for him to become a Naval officer. My older DS is Class of '26 whom he was following the footsteps of. At least he could move on now. So, much excited and proud for both of them. Wish everyone the best!
Best of luck to your DS!. Looks like great options and future!

Just curious what the status changes to from pending?

There will be some appointments. Purely speaking from a math perspective there will be more turn downs than appts. There still hasn’t been the wait list surge yet either.

This is such an incredibly kind, uplifting, and motivating post - thank you for sharing! USMC will be lucky to have you as an officer!!
