Hello, I have already received my nom and have been CPR since 1/8/19. So far there haven't been any appointments posted on here from IN and wondered if it would be out of line to contact my MOC office and ask if they have heard any news about any appointments?

If the MOC is the type that notifies their candidates, you will hear from them before you get an EMail notifying you of a status change.
What you may infer from that is that if they knew anything, they would call you.
I don't think it's out of line to call, I just think they don't know anything yet.

My understanding is my son’s MOC was contacted about my son’s appointment about a week before it showed up in his portal. She called on a Monday morning and the appointment appeared on a Wednesday as she predicted.

Calling a MOC seems like a waste of time ... they don’t find out until after a decision is made ... and the appointee finds out shortly thereafter.

SAs typically inform the MOC first — in the case of an offer — and give them a couple days to make the first call if they so choose. Some MOCs call, others don’t. After that, the SAs inform the candidate.

So sure, you can call if you like. But highly doubt they’ll have news for you — because if they did, they’d have already called you.

The much better plan is to put your attention elsewhere — family, friends, school, sports. Patience, patience, patience. Many are in your same situation and many offers are still to come.

And also don’t infer anything from the lack of reporting here. I was the only one that reported DS’s appointment from our state. And we had 9-ish attend. But looking at the DIY thread, it looks like only us.

If you know any of the others from the list (which is usually published with pride by MOC’s), try networking with them? Perhaps they have heard?

Our MOC didnt notify, but there is only a few days ahead that they know anyhow. So you will know soon after they do! It’s good news until it’s not the news you want. And notice I didn’t say ‘until it’s bad news’, because it’s not. The TWE only means “not yet” unless you want it to mean “no”. Hang in there!!!!

Great advice midcake and justdoit. DD received a 3Q letter and it stated no offers of appointments would be made before the end of Feb. Rolling admissions cycle is finished.
Enjoy your senior year. Tough yes, but it’s now out of your hands.

Just to be clear... I am assuming this is for West Point due to the 3Q letter. USNA has appointments coming out weekly right now. This board is a small sample of those who apply to SAs. Hang in there, most will know shortly.

I think you're asking if it would be inappropriate to ask your MOC if any appointments have been made from their slate. I know it's stressful, but even if they've already had an appointment it doesn't mean the door has closed until you receive the TWE. It looked like our MOC slate had already filled all the appointments last year and then 3 more appts came out of the same MOC.

If you are nervous about calling your MOC to ask you can always call your BGO and inquire with them , they often know !

NO NO NO ....and I say again, NO ! First, if you haven't read it hear before, be patient, its a marathon not a sprint. USNA's goal is to let everyone know by April 15 --that's almost two months away. You are just like all the other candidate waiting to hear. Not MOC's job to keep you feeling good on status.

Don't call your BGO either. He/She isn't going to tell you anything more than be patient.

Very bad recommendation. While the BGO's can see things through the BGO portal, they are specifically warned NOT to divulge as it is the
Congressmen's prerogative, usually for at least a week before USNA will notify via portal change, etc. Please leave the BGO out of this.
