Medical Record MixUp for Current Cadet

No idea, it could be either scenario. While it was a bit disconcerting for DD, I told her it was a good opportunity to learn to navigate the system and advocate for herself. So far, very proud... she is figuring out how to ask the right questions of the right people. Love watching these...

Medical Record MixUp for Current Cadet

UPDATE: DD was cleared for powered flight since it was obvious that she was at USAFA on all the dates in question 😂. It is going to take a bit more work to get her file cleaned up.

Medical Record MixUp for Current Cadet

Our DD was notified that she failed to medically clear for powered flight. She went to the med office and asked why, they said her file said she had a CAT scan and endoscopy for gastrointestinal issues which is why they could not clear her. The note in her computer records does not have any...

Early Graduation and it's Potential Effects on Admissions

In the event there is a potential USAFA cadet reading these posts who finds themselves in this situation, I would like to add another perspective. My DD was skipped forward two grades in math, and then the school skipped her completely past 8th grade. It was a very small school with combined...

    Boot Recommendations?

The Amazon "try before you buy" helped my DD find the ones that fit well. (I think we went through three pairs first.) Then once you find the ones you like, watch Amazon for boots that have been returned without the box. They sell them at 1/2 price, and they are new. And know what the boots...

    What to prepare to bring

An extra monitor is a plus. For our DD, we had a portable monitor that we took A-day. Works great and she can easily carry it and store it. As a rule, less is better.

United States Air Force Academy Height and Weight Request

Last year, my DD had to be remeasured. Her sitting height was flagged as irregular. Just do what you need… don’t worry about why. For us it was a 3 hour trip, but that is a small price to let them follow their dream.

    Boot Recommendations?

My DD has very small feet (size 5). The only boots that worked well were Under Armour Women's Micro G Valsetz.

    Basketball Throw

Agree 100%. Our petite DD improved drastically by utilizing the techniques in SS videos, and found herself well exceeding the norms. The issue was not her strength but her techniques. FYI- she is a C4C now!!

I got the dreaded letter class of 26

If you are not already a member of the 2026 parents facebook group, I highly recommend it. From the main group, there are also groups by squadron. You can get to know some of the other parents of basic cadets your son is interacting with. It really helps to share the ups and downs, knowing...

    Class of 2025 - Boots before I-Day

My DD has very small feet - size 5 women's (3 men's). There are few lightweight options out there. She likes the Under Armour MicroG Valsetz. They say OCP authorized but they do not say waterproof upper. Will this be a problem? Any advice appreciated!!
