As an update to my last thread about the USNA LOA, I just received the official appointment today! Thank you to everyone who contributed to the last thread and helped with my confusion! Now I have a big decision to make.

I checked my USNA portal today and saw that my status said I received a conditional offer. I understand what an LOA is and what it entails, but am confused as to why I got an LOA instead of the regular appointment because my application is fully submitted. In the "My progress" section...

The former is what worries me. I've built a good relationship with my FFR and she's helped me a ton throughout the process and been very supportive, so I'll feel extra bad if I do turn down West Point, but I do like this idea my saying "No" helping someone else if I do choose to go elsewhere.
