Confused about LOA

It's hard to believe, but many of us applied in the days where we had to stalk the mailman. Everything was snail mail. Of course, if one of your parents didn't work outside the home, s/he saw the mail before their kid. And, since usually (not always) good news from any school was a fatter envelope than bad news, they had an inkling of what was coming.

If a candidate that got the same nomination as me received an LOA and I didn't, does that mean I basically have 0 chance of getting an offer of appointment?
No, it does not. You don’t know to which source the other candidate’s nomination was charged. Nor do you know to which source, should you get offer of appointment, your nomination would be charged. Nor do you know how many appointments will be offered from your MOC’s slate. In short, you don’t know. Nor should you assume. You’re in the running until you’re not.

@Navymom4 I am in the same spot as your DS. Hopeful to hear soon as well. Does anyone know how often they review waivers at USNA?
My son says 2-6 weeks. Hoping it’s more like 2. Would love to order some grad announcements…He also is reluctant to tell anyone, afraid he will jinx it. After all this waiting it’s hard to keep it in.

From what I've read, the physician/doc who reviews the waivers comes in once a week to review waivers.
