Well, this is the first time I've been #1 to post before.
This should be nice. I am the dad of a 2008 cadet. Let's see where we go from here.

We're hoping so, too.

We just want a place where the SA family can talk amongst themselves, and in peace.

Welcome to the board! :)

 I'm the mom of three teenage boys! My oldest leaves in 19 days for Colorado Springs.

I look forward to less "confused_ _" postings. :D

hey i just came over from the cc boards. this sounds like a great idea. hopefully more people stop in! well anyways, i'm nick and i will be at mmi next year with a falcon foundation scholarship.

I'm John and will be going to USAFA as part of C/o 2010. RTB!

I am the Dad of a 2011 candidate. We just got the official, your are a candidate letter yesterday. Now the fun begins filling out all them forms!

Momof3boys,

Been meaning to call, but work has been crazy. I'm heading to Boston this week. I figured most of my questions can wait until your son heads out west.

afarldad - contact me after June 24. We are leaving the 17th for a western carribean cruise with our boys. This will be our last "family vacation" for a while. :(

Thankful for forum

I too am glad to have this more organized forum. As Stated on CC my son and I are from NC. He will be playing tennis for the Falcons. He is very excited for the opportunity for an awesome education and being a part of a wonderful military.

We finally got through the Med waiver process about 3 weeks ago and he has just seen on the web site that he is no longer medically disqualified. We will finally be receiving all the stuff you all have been getting for months. Even though we are behind the eight ball here, I am confident we will get it all done in time for BCT. We have done most of the things we know about already like update shots and dental records etc..... Our other challenge is being out of NC entire time before BCT. IT will all work out.

My son is the Class of 2010

I think I'm gonna like it here! Go Falcons Woohoo!

Thanks TN for starting this board!

I have been following the CC boards since my son recieved his USNA MOC nomination last November and greatly benefited from the advice, information and flaming of those that deserved it.

My son also received a VP nomination and appointment to AFA 2010. He has accepted the USAFA appointment (sorry Zaphod, we live in CO 1 hour from AFA, so does his girlfriend!) and will be there with the other RTBs on the 29th. 17 days and counting!

Hey, man! No foul!

I wish I lived in Colorado! :frown:

Hey Zaphod - I'll bet. You find your way here and I will provide the suds and cigar after a hike up a 14er. (to be fair, I wouldn't mind seeing NC)

So will some of the other flatlander appointees that will be sucking wind on I-Day +1. My son will be in Dillon,CO (Elev. 10,500) this week getting in some training.

Thanks for the kind offer. If you're ever in Durham, the first round's on me.

Well, I'll be one of those flatlander doolies wishing for oxygen on I+1 and I+2 and...well, for a while.

(Wow, there are some great smilies here!)

Hey R - at least the humidity is low (unlike the other USXAs) and the temps don't get above the 90s during the day and the 50s at night. You'll be next to some of the most stunning mountains in the world and 'the Springs' is a good conservative town.

Good luck preparing for BCT!

Oh, sure! Just rub it in, AFACAT!

Annapolis: Hot, humid, muggy, and decidedly NOT a conservative town!

Just a quick comment, it gets above 90 last year it was 110 and it gets pretty damn cold at night. I love the mountains and the snowboarding but the weather is unpredictable and it sux.

Where are you, Blacksheep?

If you say Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, or Nevada, I'm going to e-smack you for whining. You have no idea how good you have it.

Try living in NYC or Miami.
