2 Week Fleet Standard ROM

The Mids not getting the usual academy experience sux regardless of their class. Those who persevere and drive/thrive through this will develop grit skills which will benefit them the rest of their lives.

Nobody will ever know their story. Restricted to the room 22 hours a day isn’t a motivating story to tell.

Their sailors and Marines will know they have a good one. They’ll recognize their new DIVO
or platoon commander is a bad azz.

It may have been posted elsewhere, but here is the CSPAN link to the Senate Subcommittee Meeting with Service Academy Superintendents. Specifically linked to Vice Admiral Buck’s opening. Lots of questions on COVID-19 and Academy modernization.

I was “super-impressed” with the Supe’s message and with his delivery of that message - sitting in front of his desk with the flag standards behind him. The best description I can think of is “leaning in”. He strongly advocated for his mids without advertly doing so.

Fireside chats still continue to impress DS and his roomies. Our call today involved laughs and jokes and I could hear their good natured ribbing of each other as always.
They were looking forward to tonight’s guest (not sure who) and vaccines on the horizon are also a positive.
I believe we are experiencing a turning of the tides as it were.

Way to go C-SPAN. Last time I checked there were 5 service academies and not 3.
