Hi all,

I applied for a four year, fall (2014) NROTC Scholarship. My university options are as follows:

1) University of California at Los Angeles
2) University of Southern California
3) University of California at San Diego
4) University of Washington, Seattle
5) Oregon State University

I applied for the program in the bay area of California. As of yet I have not received notification from the Navy of any selection board decisions, still waiting (hopefully).

I would like to know about other people's application statuses (if you are willing to share) and where they are going, just out of curiosity.

Take it easy,

Sean

Hi Sean,

There are quite a few threads on the ROTC forum that will help answer your questions and might be a good place for you to begin.

My son submitted his NROTC application in late October. He was notified of his selection in early December of a 4 year NROTC Navy option to Drexel University in PA.

All the best to you! And good luck with the waiting......

Have you checked your portal? That seems to be the first place that many are finding out the status of their apps.

Yeah, I check my portal fairly obsessively actually. It gets pretty nerve wracking. My application was finished in October, but due to some documentation complications it could not be submitted to the board until late December, which evidently has offset any selection board decisions.

I've been tooling around the forums here a bit and there is certainly a lot of helpful information :)

My DD had her completed application in by the end of August and was notified of a scholarship award on Feb 7th.

My DS is Similar with west coast schools (UCSD/USD, UCB, UW, and Oregon State). No word yet and submitted it in October. Sit tight, I think this next 4 weeks we are in for a wild ride!

My DS applied before Labor Day and we are still waiting to hear word. I expect at this point it will be April.

I think that's so cool that 3/5 of the colleges I chose are similar to yours! UCLA, USC, and UCSD. That would be offly neat if our fates aligned and we ended up going to the same college! :shake: I submitted my application the day before Halloween and I got notified on Jan 24 with an assignment to Stanford. However, I'm thinking UCLA or USC will be my final resting place. Best of luck to you and your endeavors!

I applied to basically the same colleges, except UCSD was my first option.

Like you I've been patiently waiting and today I found out I was rejected.

I hope to attend NROTC through College Program though.

Best of luck to you!

Sorry about the bad news but it does allow people to proceed with the backup plans. Yours sounds excellent and is the path my son took when he got a negative reply in mid-April a few years back now. EDIT: See my tag line for the rest of the story.

I am still eagerly waiting for my results as well. The only thing I can do to keep all of this off my mind is stay involved at school. Be sure to strengthen your back-up plan and good luck to you guys!

Same with me. Looked this morning and I was also rejected.

What's more, I too am looking to attend NROTC through College Program, although I will probably do so at University of Washington (Seattle). What do you (and everyone else here) know about getting yourself enrolled and stuff?

Thanks for sharing, hope to hear back from you :) I know how you feel man.
