Same. Application done early sept, nom last week. Complete pending review, no loa. Just got to enjoy the wait.
You probably will not get an LOA. I think you mean appointment. LOA's are rare and usually given out early in the process or to athletes they're recruiting, etc. so don't be looking for an LOA. If you get one, great, but not getting one means nothing. At the end of the day, an appointment is all you need.Same here, DS has application done, nom last week and portal says Complete Pending Review. No LOA yet. Keeping the faith.
Yes, I did mean appointment. Thanks. You probably will not get an LOA. I think you mean appointment. Just curious is SA big on accepting legacy children like Ivy /top colleges?? Since SA is tuition free do graduates make big donations to increase their kids chances? Also if older sibling is in SA does that help younger sibling??
DS portal status just changed this morning from "Complete Pending Review" to "Conditional Offer of Appointment LOA". and this...
"Congratulations! You are being offered a LETTER OF ASSURANCE (LOA), which is a Conditional Offer of Appointment. This means that if you complete the remaining requirements for admissions, you will be offered an appointment to the United States Naval Academy. Our records indicate you still need to complete items to become fully qualified for admission."
We are excited but guarded. What does it mean "...if you complete the remaining requirements..." and "...you still need to complete items to be fully qualified..."
He has a 'principal' nomination from our congressman, his medical/DoDMERB status is 'qualified' and on the portal on Required Actions it reads NONE and Special Instructions it reads NONE.
He has e-mailed his admissions counselor and Blue and Gold officer for clarification, but I was wondering anyone can shed some light on these 'remaining requirements'.
Basically, you don't get told whether you passed or not. If the SA asks for a retake, that's an indicator you did not do very well. If not, you can usually assume you passed it. And the CFA has minimums, they are just not published. Also, the better you do on events, the higher your score for that. How do you know if you passed the CFA? I have submitted all of my application materials, passed the DoDMERB, and received a principal nomination from my senator. My USNA portal says complete and pending review, but my mile was slow and my basketball throw was short. So does complete and pending review mean I passed?
Also, is the CFA a pass or fail grading or numerical? Thanks
Congrats to you!!! What a relief! Could you share your state, stats, etc? We are all anxiously awaiting for our "little cupcakes" as someone put it so eloquently lately.
My son (San Aontonio, Texas) got one.Has anyone received an appointment for the class of 2020 yet?
