The arrivals are staggered to eliminate 1000+ in line at once. Ditto the suggestion to go browse for I-Day threads. They pop up in spring like mushrooms. What to wear, bring (you’ll be told), questions on the Permit To Report (“PTR,” detailed To Do list), what parents can do, etc.I see Induction day is June 29, 2023. Does anyone know what time candidates need to report on this day?
Wonderful. I will definitely use those key words to search. Thank you so much.Another hint for you, search‘I day’ (or similar query) here on the forum for lots of discussion. From hotels, to restaurants, to how it’s gone in the past. Great Holiday reading. And congrats!
Thank you kindly for the information. The arrivals are staggered to eliminate 1000+ in line at once. Ditto the suggestion to go browse for I-Day threads. They pop up in spring like mushrooms. Prior enlisted, foreign internationals and I think NAPSters report in earlier.
Here’s a link to last year’s Plebe Summer pages, which will be updated for your class starting in the spring. Much will be the same. Be sure to read all links and hamburger menu items. The PTR link from last year is there too, as well as a Parent Info book.
These are just for a heads-up, you will get your own “edition.”

Tough walk on spot depending on where you are staying. Cannot drive on for I-Day unless you are military or retired with a CAC cardGate 8
Correct. I was thinking the drive on and park... The drive & drop was a non-starter for DWYou can drive on through Gate 8 to drop off your mid. From the USNA 2022 I-Day page located at https://www.usna.edu/PlebeSummer/iday.php
"All parents will be allowed to drive onto to the Naval Academy yard with their son or daughter's Permit to Report letter in order to drop off their midshipmen candidate."
Also from the same page with regard to no-parking:
"However, no vehicles will be permitted to park on the yard. The Permit to Report letter is only valid for June 30th, 2022."
For purposes of getting your DC to Alumni Hall, Gate 8 is the best choice. For getting yourself back on to the yard after the drop-off, not so much.
