Advanced Camp Army ROTC Question.

Hey all, I was wondering how hard advanced camp Is and has anyone actually failed camp. From what I know, Advanced Camp in the past three years was pretty relaxed with no graded land nav or anything else. This year its a lot harder and I've looked at the events that needs to be passed and honestly some of them look challenging. If you fail advanced camp does that mean you get disenrolled from rotc and have to pay all that money back? That would be disappointing to make it that far to fail one event and lose out on a career. I don't go to camp until the summer of 2018 but I'm actually a little nervous on the events.

No one here can tell you this since A.) everyone years prior to 2017 had a different set up, and B.) 1st Regiment isn't even finished yet.

I wouldn't lose any sleep over this. What's going to happen this year is CC will sit down after Camp is completed and make modifications to it next year. So what happened this year, could potentially be very different compared to next year. Heck, even after the first couple of regiments they will make changes (... that's how it worked last year at least).

Personally - if you are this worried - I'd recommend linking up with your peers that are going this summer and seek their counsel, once they return. They were there, they will know it best. Perhaps they can then coach you through some of the things you are worried about.

Yes prior to 2014, it was possible to fail advanced camp, and some cadets do fail every regiment. Advanced Camp is going back to the pre 2014 standard. If you are prepared, then passing will not be an issue. If you think you are weak in an area, then start working to fix it now.
