I'm a sophomore in high school so I know it's far away but I'm just really looking forward to applying and I just wanted to see if I have a chance of getting in or not

I'm an Asian male living in Tokyo, Japan (I am an American citizen and I go to an American school) GPA is 3.73 unweighted, 3.88 weighted, PSAT 8/9 - 1190 (640 English 540 Math) PSAT 10-1190 (660 English 530 Math), taking 2 APs this year (World History and Chinese) (I've taken Chinese for 10 years now if that helps)

Extracurriculars- JV Cross Country and Varsity Baseball, involved in a club called Hands on Tokyo where we basically do a bunch of community service such as visiting orphanages, helping the elderly, etc. I also play the violin in and outside of school, I've been playing for 7 years

If you guys could give me any advice on how to make my application better that would be greatly appreciated

Suggest you peruse some of the threads on this site, including the sticky on "What Are My Chances." Lots of good advice.

Biggest thing that sticks out is your math SAT/ACT. To be competitive for USNA, it really needs to be 650+. Good news is you have plenty of time and you can practice on your own. If you are able to take a course where you are (and can afford it financially), that may also be a good move.

Second thing is to look for opportunities to demonstrate leadership this summer and next year. Lots of good advice on this site and won't repeat it here.

Third thing is to make a good impression on your junior year math/English teachers as they will be providing the "recommendations" for USNA.

Other info is in the Sticky . . .

You do have some unique attributes, such as living overseas, which will help but won't be determinative.

Alright, thank you so much! Hopefully I make a good impression on my math teacher next year since he went to West Point. Also I've had many people tell me since I'm Asian that might help out but can anyone explain why that is?

Leadership. In the end you need the academics, athletics, and leadership.

It won't. Asians are not an underrepresented minority. But your international experience and fluency in Chinese (if you are fluent) may help.

What about the different sub categories under asian that are under represented?

Since you are living in Tokyo, going through the steps to get the required nomination may be tricky. You will need to reach out to a member of congress (Rep and Senators) for your/your parent's state of residency to find out about the nomination process.
