Does AFROTC HSSP often change its board schedule? My son received an email that the final board is starting today, 3/18 and the portal states the same. The timeline on the AFROTC websites states that the last board is the week of 3/25. Did they change to an earlier date or add another week of boards? This has been an emotional rollercoaster, and thankfully it's almost over. Just trying to figure out the specifics. Thanks!

I don't know the answer to your question but I doubt they added another board. Consider that one might be a start date and the other an end date. They will have new applications to score and they have to go through ALL of them this time.

I would go with the email and assume that they moved it, but did not update the website's date. Those dates were set @ 9+ mos. ago. They really are at the end of the road for the class of 2023, and probably are working on updating for 2024.

Think of it this way. The board meets on the 18th, for a couple of days. Assume that the list is completed on the 20th. It now goes up to HQAFROTC to verify and compile. That takes several days, it would not be completed by this Fri., maybe next Weds (3/27) the results would start to come back down with the approval, which in turn they will start inputting the info into the system to be released in bulk on a specific date.
If you look at it that way, and go with the assumption there still is 1 board on the 25th, how could they do it, if by Fri. they don't have the list approved yet. When boards occur, they will have a cut off date prior to it so HQAFROTC can have all the files in order. If the board meets on a Monday, it has to be in by Fri. and as I illustrated by Fri they won't have the official list of who was or was not awarded, and needed to be re-boarded on Mon.

Good luck.
