AFROTC EA due date

Thought for a second that AspiringPilot had some good news for us with that promising email he received, then I realized that Tuesday is April 1st, April Fools Day!

The reality of our future will be a smaller active duty force and larger reserve component. The value has been proven. The reserve component can accomplish many of the air force missions at a reduced cost to the taxpayer.



The Air National Guard was recently awarded the Major General Benjamin D. Foulois Memorial Award for the most exemplary flight safety record of all Air Force major commands during fiscal 2012.

The Order of Daedalians presents the Foulois Award annually to the Air Force major command that achieved the best flying safety record as determined by the Air Force chief of staff.

The ANG, which includes 93 wings, flew 1,213 aircraft more than 348,000 flight hours. This accounted for 30 percent of the combat Air Force's mission. There were 12 unique missions with high mishap potential and not a single fighter Class-A mishap in 139,000 flight hours was recorded.

You must not have noticed the multiple question marks behind my question. As I have confessed repeatedly on this forum I am a new to anything military and that is why I ask the questions.

And also why I specifically stated no disrespect intended before posing the question.... Perhaps I should have worded the question differently.

Not at all. My son is an active duty F-16 pilot who is assigned to a reserve squadron with an active association detachment. The reserve pilots are far more experienced in the jet than the AD guys. Most of them are Majors and Lt. Cols who have thousands of flight hours. Many of them are airline pilots who fly with the reserves part-time. I don't think there is any safety issue at all.

My experience with the military is limited to being a mom of a GMC (200) cadet and a nephew (by marriage) of a retired Coast Guard Captain.

I ask a lot of questions because I don't want to be ignorant.....

Do you know why you have to be > 6 feet tall to be in the coast guard?

If EA's aren't out this week I'm blaming the Wildcats and their UPSET this afternoon over Michigan.....but I bet FlyingWildCatDad doesn't mind taking the heat!!!

Guys,

The minute you start taking it to a personal level, will be the minute the mods lock the thread.

If you don't like the songs there is a function that can allow you not to see certain posters posts.

ERAU is just trying to create leavity and is not hurting anyone now is she? The last comment was uncalled for, and as a Mom it is very hurtful to ever say that to any parent, let alone someone you do not personally know.
 
Update:
PSP is still on standby. Air Staff is being pushed to give ROTC a number of officers they want. Most likely we will get them next week or the week after or else some universities will be in a rush to get their FTP ready for field training. We will definitely NOT get them this week.
