AFROTC EA due date

Haha I guess so I have always lived here, growing up my windows would shake at my parents house when camp shelby would do target practice if that says anything about how well I might know the area. If anybody wants tips on dealing with the humidity and heat I will be glad to help.

I think that it would be great if you could put together some tips on dealing with the humidity and the heat. The best idea would probably be to start a new thread "Tips on dealing with the humidity and heat at Maxwell". I'm sure it would be appreciated by posters and their DD/DS's alike.

And a way to pass the time away while waiting...

If anybody is interested I just started a new thread on dealing with the heat at field training

I don't know about you guys, but the only thing getting me through this week will be the hope that EAs are going to come out. good luck to all!

Just passing this info along to you all, you can take it with a grain of salt:

EAs will be announced sometime this week. I cannot confirm an exact day, just know that they will be announced this week.

I'm sure this excite most from the long wait we've had to endure!

I would think they need to release this week because they still have to assign the class dates, have the cadets do their bag drag, their medical exams, and all of this has to before finals start. For some schools finals will start in three weeks.

ERAU - Last day of regular classes before finals is April 24 which is only 2 1/2 weeks away.

Scholarships also have to be released, Award Ceremony plans are still being put together, and the NCOs are trying to get everything ready for those commissioning.

My gut feeling:
Will be told either Wednesday or Thursday

If my memory serves me right, I can't recall any year where it didn't occur on Thursday

So if the official numbers get released Thursday - cadets could be waiting until the following week LLab for word on their status??? Or is it common to be notified outside of LLab?

No Thursday would be the day the cadets LEARN of their status. Numbers will probably be released before that.

If the official release is Thursday, the CoCs will know Weds.

Our DS was called Weds. night and told to report on Thursday a.m. prior to LLAB.

This is how it also operates in ADAF for promotion. The Commanders have the list in hand at least 24 hrs prior to the release. They are told release no earlier than X time on Y date.

My guess would be that the CoCs will have the list in hand by Tuesday p.m., and are getting all of the paperwork associated with SFT in order on Wed. so on Thursday at LLAB they hit the ground running.

If they do not have LLAB on Thursday, they will call them and have them come in by appointment on Thursday.
~~~ Mainly due to the fact that this is a social network world. I.E ERAU is a member here, let's assume they don't have LLAB on Thursday. She wakes up to see posters posting their results. She calls her DS to see if he was selected. He says we don't have LLAAB. He now comes on here as a lurker and sees many cadets know. He lives with other AFROTC cadets that are not tapped into a site like this, and now they all know. They than go to the det and ask did we get it?
The list has an official release date, thus they know, and nothing will kill morale in a unit faster than saying to the cadet:
Yes, the results are out, but we won't tell you until LLAB next week.
The only time I can recall of delaying the notification for a week was due to the fact that the school was on spring break.
Otherwise because of the reasons I have stated they will call them in if there is no LLAB.
For parents, the one thing that tripped us up was, some of DSs shots needed boosters. He had to get a TB, tetanus, H1N1 and Mennococcal. During this week pull out their shot records and make sure they are up to date. If they are not have them make an appointment at the college health Clinic and get it done now.
The blue binders, pens, sunscreen, etc is easy to do in a day, expensive, but easy, getting a doc appointment for shots, and the medical exam while not conflicting with classes is more difficult.
Not sure how common it is to be notified outside of LLAB, but notification is usually done on a LLAB day at least. Some dets notify 200s who did not get EAs the night before telling them not to come to LLAB.
As far as when official numbers are generally released, in years past dets have been told on Wednesdays with the vast majority of them waiting until Thursday to tell cadets. If you look at last year's thread, many 200s were sent emails Wednesday night saying when they were to report in the next day at a specific time, our det sent nothing but the 200s knew that they would be told that day because boards and facebook had lit up. Most dets have LLAB Tues and/or Thurs so it makes sense that we would have a mass release then, dets that had LLAB Mon/Wed were either told Wed or had individual reporting in times for Thurs last year. Apparently there are a few dets that meet Fridays, idk when EAs are generally released for them but I hope their cadre are merciful and don't make them wait until a few days after their released.
I feel it in my bones guys, this is the week. Was hoping for them to come out in the past couple of weeks, I can't say I was surprised though when they didn't. But finals are in 3 weeks so they can't delay any longer, bag drag has already been set for 2 weeks from now. Hopefully I won't be too broke by then :shake:, soon it'll be time to revive that old SFT packing list thread. List from the FTM is pretty specific, but heard there are a couple things not on the list that are a hot commodity on the underground FT trading market.
What actions do we need to take before FT? Do you have to get a physical if you have dodmerb? Does it need to be before school is over or just before your max?
Here's an old thread:
**this includes a good idea to begin prep'g for early morning duties by getting up at 5:00/5:30 to make bed, work out and keep moving until 8am (before having to report). Something I think DS needs to consider is the difference between East Coast time and West Coast time - 5:00am becomes 3:00am!
Hoping this is the week EA's come out, would love to see more confirmation of this occurring! Good luck to all cadets competing and please posts any new info received.
Just want to pass advice along to all those cadets out there and parents that can pass along to their sons/daughters. Once EAs come out and they basically know their orders and what not, please refrain from talking about the specifics on social media, especially joining those MAX groups on Facebook. Join those groups AFTER you come back from Field Training.
This has been stressed so much at my DET by POC and cadre, because they don't us to get into trouble and singled out specifically while at FT if we go. Because they've seen and witnessed it happen.
Be smart! :shake:
