Hello, I was wondering if I were to withdraw from one of my current courses, would AFROTC calculate the "W" as a zero/"F" or does the "W" not get calculated into your CGPA? I know that on my official transcript my grade would show as a "W" and it won't affect my GPA, but I am unsure as to how ROTC would calculate it. Thanks!

*P.S. I have contacted my cadre and am waiting for a response.

The W is not calculated into your GPA. Although there is a limit to how many you can withdraw from in your ROTC career (forgot the number but you can ask cadre). Own up to the mistake and when you talk to them have a solid plan already in place to fix the problem. Nothing will look better than coming in and telling them that you will be at the Detachment working an x number of hours per week.

Thank you! That's what I thought the current standards were. And Sled, if memory serves right, I believe it's three, but I may be wrong. Also, I already contacted cadre and do plan on owning up to it. Thanks!

I had to withdraw as a scholarship cadet last year. Came back, got an A, and was a couple off from being top of the class. The way I handled it was to not let it get me down and not worry about the past. Do the same and you'll be alright! Good luck!
