Air Force Academy Shaken By Death Of Cadet
Sep 16, 2010
The Air Force Academy mourns one of their own today.
A cadet at the Academy was found unconscious Wednesday in his dorm room. Paramedics were able to revive him, but he died Thursday morning at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs.
The Cadet Wing was informed of the death at breakfast formation.
"The Academy family is deeply saddened by the death of one of our own," Lt. Gen. Mike Gould, Superintendent of the Air Force Academy, said in a press release. "Our Air Force family is grieving this loss, and we are committed to helping the family through this extremely difficult time."
The Air Force Academy says an initial investigation indicates the cadet may have taken his own life. An official cause and manner of death will be determined pending an autopsy report. Academy personnel and the cadet's family are working on the funeral arrangements.
