Allowed to have ____ Plebe Year?

Hey, so I just wanted to ask about things we’re allowed to have in our rooms during Plebe year. Feel free to add to the list if you have something of your own. Here’s my list:

1. Additional computer other than the one issued?
2. Gaming console?
3. Headphones (non noise-cancelling)?
4. Coffee maker?
5. Printer?

This year each roomie could have 1 small appliance [coffee maker etc]
So they coordinated to have good selection.
You will find out before A day, but not before R day, what `22 can have. Lots of cadets in Wal-Mart A-day weekend . . .

Yes, and depending on your company policy, you may actually be allowed a game console second semester, but only you know if the temptation to play will be too big of a distraction for your own good.
You will have some free time on weekends depending on your athletic/club schedules, and Netflix seems to be popular as entertainment. Your schedule will be busy, and Cadets do need to relax and unwind when time permits.

I was invited to West Point for the Army v Duke game in November, and the Plebes that they put me with had both Xbox and Netflix. We slept late that night

Anyone know about a bluetooth speaker? Also, I am a big video game fan as well, if consoles are allowed Yuk year, are TV's and/or monitors allowed as well? Just feel they would take up a lot of room in the dorms...

Okay thanks, when I visited WP in the fall, one of the upperclassmen had a speaker, wasn't sure about plebes.

No to refrigerator. Pretty sure microwave is a no also. Small appliances, limited # per room.

Most important after beast will be a box fan (sold at cadet store) if you're in barracks that doesn't have A/C.

No one can have a fridge or microwave, including upperclassmen. There are company rooms that have those appliances should the need arise. Mine selected a burr grinder this year for his appliance. He said they have so little access to the finer things at WP, so he wanted to at least have the option for a really good cup of coffee!

There may not be a correlation between what one sees in a Plebes room during a visit and what’s permitted to be in the room. Yeah, yeah. I know. Not supposed to push the rules, cookie cutter compliant cadets. Yadah yadah yadah.

Someone has to walk all those hours.

Plebes aren't supposed to have gaming consoles but multiple in my company have them. It depends on the company.
