Allowed to have ____ Plebe Year?

Instant Pot?
To cook ramen

You are not allowed to have a water boiler. Most companies have microwaves.

Anyone know about a bluetooth speaker? Also, I am a big video game fan as well, if consoles are allowed Yuk year, are TV's and/or monitors allowed as well? Just feel they would take up a lot of room in the dorms...

No bluetooth speaker or speaker as a plebe. Only speakers built into your computer, tablet, phone, etc.

You are allowed two monitors (your laptop screen would have to be closed, or one monitor with your laptop screen open) each no bigger than 24 inches. Plebes are only allowed to use the issued monitor model from the computer care package.

Are desktops allowed?

Yes, but you can't connect to the west point internet network with it.

Your issued computer should be plenty powerful.

If I recall correctly, we brought my sons guitar to him on A-day. He is a 2020, so my memory might not be perfect, but I am pretty sure that is when we brought it. There are a few others in his class who have their guitar with them. After almost two years he said it has been really important to have his guitar there.

One thing I will suggest. If your kid has more than one guitar, bring the less expensive guitar. Also have your Cadet keep the guitar in a case. My son brought his $1000+ Martin, and didn't keep it in a case. It got very dry there, as the heat just blasts all the time, and then his roommate dropped from his upper bunk, and landed on the guitar, cracking the back. It cost a bit to have that repaired, and no longer in original condition. Now he has a cheaper guitar there.

This might be an odd question. Is there any reason for a plebe to have a bicycle? If my DD had gone with her plan "B" school it would have made sense but I have no idea about West Point.

We weren't allowed bikes while I was there. I spent most of firstie year hiding mine under my bed or my car so I would have it, because I enjoy riding but not because I needed it. There just isn't the space for people to have them, even in the trunk rooms
