I have to pick my vacation days soon for the next 15 months. (which stinks when you have kids and try to plan!)

I hate to break the news to you, but these dates won't come out till March or April. Google "NSTC Notice 1530" - each year a new one comes out with the new dates and instructions.

+1 to USMCGrunt, and that's if you're lucky. One year DS didn't get his dates until late May since he requested a cruise out of the ordinary...and got it.

Actually, I think the dates are set already -- though perhaps only published internally for right now. Cortramid West is 22 May - 22 June, and Cortramid East is 10 July - 10 August.

That's what #2 son is telling us - he's hoping for East so he can do a study abroad in May / June

@learningNavymom: that's great. I am happy to be corrected. DS' unit was always slow to announce the dates. Back in the day, I would check random NROTC unit websites to see if they had advance word and might have published them. Every once in a while I might catch a break.

What class is your mid? 1/c have random cruises depending on when the ship/boat/squadron they are going to can have them, 2/c have sea trials which are ~1 month long and there are 5 of them over the entire summer (the last one is like 10days), and 3/c have cortramid and the days above are correct.

My DD is a 2/c. She also has to take a summer course (but will be taking it close to home) bc it is a prerequisite course her school doesn't offer in spring, yet she needs it by fall. Yet another way colleges make money!!

Just a note on the Sea Trials dates: my MIDN son tells me that the Sea Trials are actually something like 10-15 days (?), so these dates are indicating how long staff have to be there (to run two sessions).

If anyone has more precise info about Sea Trials and the length of the training, I'm happy to be corrected.

Jacksonville Sea Trials and Newport Sea Trials after the 1st one were all canceled this year. Not certain what the future holds for Sea Trials. My DS was scheduled for Sea Trials and a 2C cruise.

Newport did not cancel the 2nd one- which is underway now, but did cancel the 3d and 4th.

I wouldn't anticipate hearing anything until April. Just my 2 cents based on prior anecdotal experience.

Deleted my original post bc I read this in my mind as the dates for NSI [emoji849]...which are the following according to DS’s packet if anyone is curious:

09-29 June
01-21 July
23 July - 12 August

Sorry about that but again these are NSI DATES. While I’m at it, anyone know how assignments are made for this? Exciting stuff!!
