As much as the waiting is tough, I know admissions is doing everything they can. Moreover, I'm incredibly thankful to have made it this far in the process, regardless of whether or not I receive a TWE.
 
Yes, i saw the extension to Apr 30 too. However, I believe they are continuing to roll out notifications next week. My guess is rather than change the date twice, they just pushed it to Apr 30. Of note: those notified by Apr 15 still have to give an acceptance by May 1, so the Waitlist timeline is probably not affected much. Those notified after Apr 15 will be given a little more time to accept.
 
My application has been under review since April 7. I was in the usna live chat and the LT recommended to email your admission’s officer if you did not receive any news on April 15. I was hoping to get some sort of news because I have to accept/decline my ROTC scholarship by April 24, but if Navy offers anything and I mean anything I would much rather wait it out and accept that since I have wanted to attend the academy since middle school but I don’t want to lose that scholarship just in case I don’t get accepted. Does anyone have any advice?
 
Absolutely you can accept your scholarship. And should you receive an appointment, your scholarship is declined.

So, my advice is to accept the scholarship. Both of my guys did this. Then sent an email/contacted their unit when headed to Annapolis.

NAPS is far from high school. It’s an important bridge between high school and USNA, for outstanding candidates who are deemed in need of more academic preparation to succeed at the academy. It’s the proverbial “golden ticket.” NAPS grads have posted here how much they benefited from that prep year. And they’re roundly seen in a very positive light once on the Yard. From everything I’ve learned, I don’t think any of them would call it “high school.”

My DS accepted USAFA prep school this year because the drop dead date was April 15th. If Navy appointment happens he will just decline the Prep school and take Navy.

Yes, I would have to agree with you if we were talking about NAPS. But this college reapplicant was offered Foundation, meaning, more or less, going back to high school.

If you mean academically, probably not. If you mean maturity wise? That’s a thing to consider. But I can say that the older Mids in both of my sons companies are VERY respected. Are looked up to. And do very well!

I think you're all misunderstanding me. This candidate must have completed 1 or 2 years of college before being given a Foundation offer. That would then mean, literally, going back to high (prep) school for a year before entering the Naval Academy. I have no idea how this became an issue of NAPS or respect of older mids within companies. I just wanted to point out that it must have been strange/annoying having to leave college, return to high school, and then go to the Academy. I'd add that I would happily do that if it meant eventually going to USNA.
 
My DS is still waiting... hoping for good news. Sent in the deposit for Plan A- today just to be safe. Hoping it is just a donation to the university.

Call the HQ in Fort Knox... talk to a live person and explain the situation. More than likely, ROTC will give you an extension. In my 30-year career, talking to higher ups about assignments always work. Hope this helps.
