Applicant status

Sorry, nope. Summer Seminar really has nothing to do with it. I do hope you had a good time, and saw & did things new to you. It will not affect your application, your nomination, nor your appointment.

I'm fully aware that Summer Seminar has practically no bearing on whether someone receives an appointment or not. I only mentioned that because while we were at Summer Seminar, we were told by an admissions counselor that Summer Seminar kids would receive candidate status at almost the exact same time. I just wanted to see if that has been confirmed or not.
As I understand it, you would have been promoted to Candidate status in the very first few days if you elected to use your Summer Seminar application as your Pre-Candidate application as well. This was a choice that was offered when completing the Summer Seminar application.

This is meant for those parents/applicants that are possibly a bit over concerned with applicant portals opening. I really don't know one way or another as far as any applicability to summer seminar, My daughter is sitting across the room from me right now home for her 3-week summer break from the academy after completing ESET (she's a member of the class of 2020) and I am remembering that the application process is lengthy and time consuming and can be stressful for all involved if the proper perspective is lost. Remember its only July and next April (when large numbers of appointments are made) is a ways off. Just relax and keep an eye out for the email notification to the applicant that his/her portal is now open and simply follow the instructions and deadlines. Don't spend a lot of energy trying fruitlessly to decipher the Da Vinci code of why one applicant's portal opens before or after another applicants. Spend your time preparing for what you know is coming (CFA, MOC/ALO interviews, essays, etc). Best of luck!
