Application Open Date

No one said that your file is definitely not going to open for USMA, but based on the criteria that the RCs use for opening a file, it will be iffy.
Your high class rank may save you though.
USNA may use different criteria than WP, so I wouldn't use that as a measure of whether WP will open your file.

I am pretty sure they do. I have seen USMA candidates with LOA or appointments getting rejected or being offere last minute apopintments by USNA. I have seen some USMA candidates that were not go to the next phase of the application process being allowed further with USNA.

I checked online and whitehouse.gov says the minimum sat scores are 500 math and 500 verbal, but the average is 598-630 verbal, 640-710 math

Can you post a link of where it says this? The minimum scores are not supposed to be known by the public. If the minimum is really that low that would be shocking to me.

I think by average you mean the middle 50%.

Honestly, I cannot imagine where this data came from, but of course it's on the interwebs so it has to be true. Hardly (in my experience) enough to get a nomination, let alone an appointment. But, there it is.

I don't think that website is correct.

This person was academically disqualified and scored an 1130. If you search the forum you can probably find many people that got above 500 SAT math and CR that were academically disqualified.

Not saying it is correct. Simply showing where it is posted, as you asked.

EDVfootball: Good on you for doing all that research, and for a moment, let’s imagine that somewhere there is a regulation that validates those pages/posts, stating that those are the minimum requirements even though many who have walked this path before have second thoughts on that. Understand, an appointment is not an entitlement for all who qualify, in any sense, so in context of the situation all applicants are in, min. reqs. are a moot point. This is a competition – you have to beat out your competitors. Applicants submitting at that level are *extremely* unlikely to be the most competitive at any level, local, state, or national. As you browse through the history in these threads, I think one constant you are likely to see is that only the most competitive get nominations; and you’ll see that while “qualified” (referring to those various posts) there are many who are both qualified and nominated and yet not selected for an appointment. Happens every year. So continue to dig in and be the MOST competitive you can, and understand that success in military service is similar to that in other fields, you will compete in some type of stack rank of value to the organization, whether it is an OML (Order of Merit List) or whatever other system is used, aim for the highest possible, not the lowest acceptable.

Like most things in life, you’ll get more out of it when you put more into it.

Best regards,
RLTW

RLTW. Yeah I know, it's all about beating the competitor. I stated the "minimum" with regards with the portal opening up. I know to get in you have to be the cream of the crop. The only issue I have with myself is my sat. I ace all my classes, honors and ap, and class rank top 5%. Participate in sports, bunch of leadership positions. Ex. You get the point. I need my sat to improve a LOT.
