EDVfootball: Good on you for doing all that research, and for a moment, let’s imagine that somewhere there is a regulation that validates those pages/posts, stating that those are the minimum requirements even though many who have walked this path before have second thoughts on that. Understand, an appointment is not an entitlement for all who qualify, in any sense, so in context of the situation all applicants are in, min. reqs. are a moot point. This is a competition – you have to beat out your competitors. Applicants submitting at that level are *extremely* unlikely to be the most competitive at any level, local, state, or national. As you browse through the history in these threads, I think one constant you are likely to see is that only the most competitive get nominations; and you’ll see that while “qualified” (referring to those various posts) there are many who are both qualified and nominated and yet not selected for an appointment. Happens every year. So continue to dig in and be the MOST competitive you can, and understand that success in military service is similar to that in other fields, you will compete in some type of stack rank of value to the organization, whether it is an OML (Order of Merit List) or whatever other system is used, aim for the highest possible, not the lowest acceptable.
Like most things in life, you’ll get more out of it when you put more into it.
Best regards,
