Last week, I called the Naval Academy and they confirmed that my application was 100% complete, early, and still viable for an LOA (Letter of Assurance). On Friday last week, the status of my application stated, "Complete - Pending Review"

Now it updated today and says, "Pending"

Do you know what this current status means? (And what is the difference of the two status statements) And when I get accepted, will it come as an LOA or offer of appointment. Because I know that the Naval Academy is rolling admissions, but the due date is still not until January 31.

My understanding is once you receives a nomination, your status changes from "Complete -- Pending Review" to "Pending"

Untrue, one of my friend's portals just changed Pending, despite already having a Nom. She is just missing her medical.

really? Not saying that’s not right but I’m not sure about that. I have that same status change but have not been notified of any nomination received. I was told by my MOCs that nominations would come mid January.

My MOC sent an email saying noms won’t be sent until late January but then it showed up on my portal (early Dec)

This might not be your case but anything can happen.

Fellow Pennsylavnia applicant here, my USNA portal switched from Complete to Pending Review a month or two ago despite me not having any nominations in.

DS had been "Complete -- Pending Review" since early October. It just turned to "Pending" today -- he got a nomination dated yesterday. It seems to me that Pending means it has been reviewed --- now it is to compete within the slate.

DS's went from incomplete to pending today... Everything was in including nomination and medical for weeks....

Alas, another wrinkle. . .DS will not have a Nomination until 31Jan, as that is when our state submits them. His portal also shows Transcript and DODMERB not received, although we know they were done a while ago. . .His status is 'Pending'

So, I do not believe Pending has a correlation to Nomination being received.

DD completed DODMERB in Oct of last year, wasn't until following mid-January that the DODMERB was received, and the portal showed it. They are understaffed and suffer from backlogs. Many people complain about them.

In a moment of clear thinking and subsequent logical action I wonder if the academy decided to amend the 'incomplete' and various other incarnations of confusing portal messaging to something as simple as a 'pending' catch-all to avoid the multiple questions/queries and phone calls they have been receiving from candidates......;-)

Experienced the same thing. Status changed to "Pending" on Wednesday like many others. Then today status changed from Pending to Incomplete Closed. Basically waiting for DODMERB results to show up. Just have to hurry up and wait.

My DS has everything done except for a nom. Still waiting for a moc nom. His says "pending."
