This thread is more for my peace of mind.

I currently have everything completed with my application on my end except for the CFA, as I want to get the best score possible. However, my Letters of evaluation from my Commander, Supervisor, and Officer are still in the works. My CC's secretary told me that the Commander had completed the questionnaire and the letter, although my portal mentions that it is still in progress. I only have until Jan 31st to get everything done, and I am afraid that I will be cutting it close with the LOEs since it seems they are taking forever.

Will my application suffer if I complete it close to the deadline? I'm afraid the board will rate it with a negative stigma.

My suggestion would be to complete the package as soon as possible. You are thinking about dates in the wrong way - not the absolute deadline to submit a package, but rather, you want to be in by the first admissions selection board and I believe they have already started with admissions offers.

On Day 1 of the first admissions panel for the cycle - do they have more slots to offer than on the last day of the cycle? Yes! They have more than 1000 seats to hand out this year and those start counting down as soon as the first board meets.

Your statistical best chance for receiving an appointment is not on the drop dead date of Jan 31st.... Early bird gets the worm or risks there being no worms left.

Call your admissions officer to confirm receipt of the CC evaluation. There is a chance they have received it, and they are administratively backed up to process and post to the web. However, you don't want to assume everything went through and it is something a phone call could clear up. If there was a problem, you could approach the CC to try again -- working in parallel towards a common deadline in a proactive manner.

Take the CFA and submit your score today. Keep improving and update the score on file if it materially improves. Your post suggests you are already on active duty, so let's assume the current performance level is not abysmal and is likely already at a passing score.

shiner, or anyone for that matter,

is there a way to see how many selection have been given out thus far? Or the dates that the admissions panel meet?

It is my understanding that they started in Mid-October and meet weekly until the class is full. There are no real-time optics on the number of appointment offers that have been given out. Historic info is all that is released, but one can learn A LOT from those figures.

https://www.usafa.edu/app/uploads/Grad_Class_Profile_2019.pdf

Applicants 9122
Candidate Pool 7156
Qualified Candidates 2528
Offers of Admission 1559
Admitted: 1242

Many are told that the acceptance rate is 10%, but is it really when you evaluate "qualified" candidates instead of those who opened an application?

Cheer up... the waiting game is PAINFUL but worth it!

What is a “qualified candidate” ?

Thanks for the advice all.

I ended up emailing my admission officer like you prescribed, she told me my letter is with my 1786 but that the Commander must also complete the letter online? The big issue right now is that I won't have any face to face with the CC for a very long time, as well as the upcoming holiday lol.

Anyways, I'm sure I will do just fine as long as I continue to care about my application, outside advice is always nice though :)
