DD received a phone call and a appointment Tuesday night. This was the second time on the wait list and I had pretty much given up hope. I would like to thank everyone for their support through the last two years. I am addicted to the forum so I will continue to check in to keep tabs on all the great people!

Your appointment offer coincided with our DD's final waiver request denial.

It's been a great trip with no regrets. We have a good plan B and may cross paths again. Look out USCGA when Maine Maritime comes to town.

Wishing you the best of luck and pleased that if we didn't get it, someone with an obvious hunger and desire did.

Congrats! What an exciting way to find out. You are going to be busy these next weeks getting everything in order, but it will be so worth it!

hahaha....got it! I remember starting the countdown wayyyy earlier. But that's probably just a mom thing.

I counted down the "last" everything...the last Mother's Day/Father's Day at home, the last family gathering at home (for awhile at least!), the last Saturday night movie night.....etc. I drove myself and my family nuts with all the sentimentality.

So, for those moms (and dads) finding themselves wistfully embracing the "lasts", know this. THE RIDE IS INCREDIBLE! And there will be so many "firsts" for your family, that you will get over missing the "lasts". :biggrin:
