My son never communicated with the schools he placed on his list. After he was awarded the scholarship, they all reached out to him by email. My DS never contacted and talked with ROOs at schools he was accepted. Did you mean he should be reached by one of ROOs from schools if he gets award scholarship?
Judging from how well the new FAFSA rollout is going, I'm not sure I want any more "improvements" completed until my DS has moved through the system. As another poster wrote, ROTC Command needs to address the antiquated nature of the application portal. My son must have asked me 3 different times why the system was so poorly designed. If they want to attract the best candidates spend some money and get the portal out of the 1990s.
But why would they ask that if they didn't feel pretty confident you are getting a scholarship offer?Just got an email from one of my top 3 asking if they could share my scholarship results with the college once they are released, I doubt he knows anything though.
But why would they ask that if they didn't feel pretty confident you are getting a scholarship offer?
If you are still waiting for an admission decision from that school, I would imagine having the scholarship attached to your name won't hurt!
Exactly. The cadre must be pretty confident the student is getting an ROTC scholarship offer, or why else would they be asking @MylkNCookies for permission to share the news with the school? The ROTC program at the school would probably love to have the applicant but they need the School to offer admission....
I actually already got accepted with the school, so its odd, I don't see why they would need to share it. None the less I allowed them to.But why would they ask that if they didn't feel pretty confident you are getting a scholarship offer?

My kingdom for an ROTC & SA version of the common app…As another poster wrote, ROTC Command needs to address the antiquated nature of the application portal. I have been told that winning the scholarship doesn't influence the school's admissions process but I find that hard to believe.I actually already got accepted with the school, so its odd, I don't see why they would need to share it. None the less I allowed them to.
THAT is a great idea!My kingdom for an ROTC & SA version of the common app…
Can you imagine how many applicants the SAs would get if the process wasn't a complete pain in the.....My kingdom for an ROTC & SA version of the common app…
