Army ROTC 2023-2024 3rd Board

My DS was the same, turned down the ECP in hopes of a 3 year. He was accepted into some of his top choice 4 year schools so he wasn’t interested in going to a junior college at this point. He had checked in the application that he wasn’t interested in the ECP scholarship but honored he recieved it. Even if he doesn’t get a 3 year offer. Good luck to you!
Same boat, got into my top choices so the ECP was far less appealing. Good luck to your DS.

Does anyone know how the medical waiver process fits into the Board review? My DS was medically disqualified but we are hoping for a waiver. Would one hear about a waiver and scholarship at the same time? I don't know his portal status right now, but he was "Board Ready" last week.

I do not think he will hear about these at the same time as they are independent of each other in ROTC during the scholarship process. They do not need to medically qualified to be awarded the scholarship. The scholarship is only activated after the medical qualification is granted. Most recipients don't begin the medical qualification process until they have been awarded the scholarship. I know SA applicants are in the pipeline sooner for medical qualifications, but remember that each entity is different and while one may not grant a waiver, another might.

If you are awarded a scholarship you will automatically be considered for a waiver afterward.

Last Name "L" and not boarded. :/
Interesting…. I’d be patient, I saw another message that says they go in alphabetical order but another that says it goes in order of submission so perhaps it’s both. I’m G and had my status changed from b/uc to boarded sometime early yesterday afternoon.

Last name S, still showing Board Ready this morning. In terms of submission timing, he is a first time applicant just before this 3rd board so he'll be one of the last reviewed if they're using submission date. Patience is hard. ;) Harder for me than him I think.

The hardest wait is the time between when he is boarded and results are released. But you'll get there.

Best of luck!

I think it is always harder on the parents.

Last name C. Submitted for Jan board and was Boarded/Under Consideration. Went to Boarded this week. Dang this is tough. With this timing and FASFA delays, college submissions will be like a Tsunami this Spring.

Seriously. Wish the Army would just give everyone 4-year scholarships so we didn't have to worry about FAFSA and school-based aid.

I know, I know. Dream on...
