Army ROTC 3rd Board Results...

My son received the Ike Skelton Early Commissioning Scholarship. All 4 schools listed are not ones he applied to. He has been accepted to four other colleges in NC. We are not sure what to do now.

His portal still says boarded/under consideration, but he received an email with the scholarship offer.
Take some time and research the Ike Skelton Scholarship. There are a lot of threads on this forum that explain the Scholarship. Here is some info to get you started:

Early Commissioning Program
Recipients of the Early Commissioning Program (ECP) scholarships will receive financial assistance for 2-years at one of our 4 sponsoring Military Junior Colleges (MJC) in their pursuit of an Associate degree from the MJC and a commission in the U.S. Army.

These individuals will continue on at a 4-year ROTC program school of their choosing to complete their baccalaureate degree without any other ROTC benefits except for Educational Assistance Program (EAP) within 36 months. EAP will pay either full tuition and fees or flat rate of $10,000 for room and board for only 24 months. Acceptance of EAP will add one Additional Military Service Obligation (ADSO) for each year or partial year EAP is used. Upon commission the MJC lieutenants will be required to select and join a drilling unit in one of the Reserve components and attend battle assemblies and annual training while working on their 4-year baccalaureate degree. These scholarships are also known as the "Ike Skelton Scholarship".

I am in the same exact boat

Same. I won the ECP scholarship on the 2nd board. I am just curious about if decisions were all released at once, then why does it still say I'm boarded/ UC instead of not selected? I live in NC btw

My son was offered the Ike Skelton scholarship after the 2nd board. Anyone can PM me if you'd like to know what we thought and learned about it.

My son declined that offer. Thankfully, we was offered a 3yr after the 3rd board. We are infinitely thankful to @Montana State Army ROTC for his wise and knowledgeable advice at the time. Really, all the regulars on this board that help parents and kids are such a blessing.

So I was declared a winner for a 3 year but it says the colleges are pending acceptance what does that mean?

Mine says the same, despite already being accepted. I did not upload the letters of acceptance though. It could also mean pending acceptance of the scholarships.

Thank you! That gives me some hope! Congrats to your son.

Congrats to all the candidates awarded. My DS went through the process last year and could only describe the whole process as "mental waterboarding." He was awarded an NROTC scholarship and loves it! So I have been able to sit back and commiserate with all the candidates and parents going through the process this school year. Now my second DS is starting the process. At least this time I will be more mentally prepared as will he since he saw how the process played out. And if not selected don't despair. You can still join the AROTC unit and work hard to obtain a scholarship. You should of course contact the ROO beforehand at the school you will attending in the fall to obtain necessary info and requirements.

I was offered the Ike Skelton scholarship after the second board as well. I figured that if I didn't respond to the offer, that would be seen as declining it, but I may be wrong. I hope this isn't why I am still boarded/UC.

So long time lurker on these boards. My oldest was thinking of VMI when he was a freshman back in 2013. I think that's the first time I ever found this board. Way to many people to thank for their wisdom.

Second son decided after the first board this year to apply. He was awarded a 3 yr to his top 3 yesterday like so many others. Thank you to the people that answer all the questions that come about board after board. Year after year. As I told him last night I had no greater privilege that serving my country.

💯! We’re still waiting to hear news for DS (NROTC) but in the meantime have started discussions w/ his Plan B school Battalion. They are more than happy to take him on as a College Programer & said they will help him w/ the application for next year. My guess the issue is small # of leadership positions or the interview- the other checked “boxes” are very solid....
