AROTC Scholarship Board - Week of March 23, 2020

Still b/uc... Have a feeling that it will stay that way. While it sucks that I fell short when I put everything I had forward, I refuse to let this stop me. I think for those of us who were not selected, we should not let this stop us from doing AROTC. Show them how badly we want it and bring the same attitude we had towards the board to whichever AROTC program we join.
I have the same mentality as you!

Jeez, read the thread. See @Montana State Army ROTC posts above. It will be on your portal.

Yeah I had read the entire thread through a couple times I am just still confused because I've been getting some conflicting information. My portal has no information other than the fact I've been awarded a 3 year scholarship for 2 schools.

What @kinnem is saying is that all of the information that you need is either in your portal or will be. In your portal under the "File Upload" page you will have a file called "Winner Letter" everything you need to know about accepting the scholarship is in the letter. Under the tab "Additional Information" -Has Everything (I mean EVERYTHING) you need to know about the scholarship and what you need to do. Take some time and read through it all. Good Luck!

Thanks for the info!

I have the same status but remaining hopeful. If some ROOs aren't receiving a list of winners until Friday then maybe we'll know then as well. Last board I went from B/UC to winner for the 2 year ECP. Not over until it's over.
Yes sir! Good luck!

They haven't said if they'll give me anything yet... I just emailed the ROO to let him know and see if they'd like to give me something.

For reasons that I will never understand/know, the board didn't like me enough to give me a scholarship.

Every ACT test, every grade, every time I went into school early for tutoring, every mile I ran, every push-up, every sit-up, the fights, the tears, the heartache... was for naught.

BULLSH!T Jarhead713.... Improvise, adapt, overcome! The harsh reality for some scholarship earners on this forum is that many things will prevent them from moving forward in the process or being able to keep their scholarship. All of the items below happened to cadets in my sons class by the first month of his sophomore year.

1) Some will not get past DoDMERB ( DS needed a waiver to get past DoDMERB)
2) Some will turn down the scholarship or leave early to go to an academy. (DS friend was admitted to WP after his fist year)
3) Some will get into trouble and loose the scholarship ( DS close friend lost his for drinking and then lying about it)
4) Some will show up to college in terrible shape and be unable to pass the fitness test to activate the scholarship ( many in DS first semester)

My point is this, focus what you can control. Find your "best fit" ROTC program and enroll. Show up in great shape and for the sake of all that is holy and just show up with the proper work out gear and with the regulation haircut. ( One guy showed up looking like Alan from the Hangover with a profane t-shirt on... we was not invited back). If you knock out a great fitness score, show up on time and actively participate you will very likely be in line for a campus based scholarship. Best of luck.

Hey, was wondering for some advice, I was awarded a 3 year to University of Missouri, but I accidentally put down the non main campus. I requested a transfer to the main campus where I have already been accepted. I did everything they said I was just wondering if anybody know if its likely to get approved or not. I am a little nervous I do not want to loose my scholarship because they will not transfer it to another school. Also how long dose it take to transfer?

I'm sure it will go through since you've done it pretty early on. I am also going to Mizzou as well with my 3 year AD!

From my experience. DD requested a school change and it was done within a couple of days. As long as you followed the steps and provided the info requested everything should work out.
