Awards ceremony

I recently was appointed with the last wave. I’d heard of appointees receiving/accounting their appointment at their senior awards ceremonies and was wondering how I might arrange this? I’d really like to have this done but have no idea who to go to or how to!

Our school already said virtual. If u r lucky to have your school doing in person i would think u should reach out to your USAFA contact in your area and ask them

My son contacted his mentor ALO via email who said he would present the appointment. They are currently in discussion with school counselor/administration arranging details.

My DD spoke to her counselor about this and her ALO is going to present it to her during the senior awards.

I've done dozens of these over the years. I go in service dress uniform, I have a little (short but informative) "speech" I give while the student is coming forward, and then I give them their appointment certificate (okay...in the past years...the USAFA certificate is SUPER cheesy...MUCH prefer the USNA/USMA ones) in front of their peers.

It's usually a lot of fun!!

I have not seen the USAFA certificate, but I will agree that the USMA certificate in the extremely nice presentation folder makes an impact.

Years ago the AFA one was nice, in a blue awards folder, with a great photo of the AFA Mascot, Mach 1 (Gyrfalcon).

Lately? I could do better on my home printer with some nice 24# parchment paper.

hour? i would imagine more 10 seconds. a single paveway bomb costs around a 25 grand.
