Before we head out...

I have a Braun Series 3. I'm leaving the cleaning base at home, and bringing just the Razor and charger cord to BCT. I'll have my parents bring out the base on A-day or Parents Weekend. Make sure you bring the little brush that comes with it to clean the inside.

Thanks Matt... That seems like the best option.

A random question...
I have been asked several times about roomates. During BCT how does that work? Is it just who you happen to be standing by in line, or are they determined before hand.

Ya same here i am bringing only the brush for cleaning my Norelco, my parents are bringing up the base later on at PW

BCT roommates are determined beforehand. Later on, it will be up to your squadron as to how they will go about doing it.

I'm sure it's been mentioned, electric razors are great and definitely bring one. But also bring a regular razor. There will be times when you might not be able to charge yours. Just a reiteration in case someone missed it.

but if i know for a fact mine will stay charged while at jacks and all dont bother with razor right? Mine has a really long charge. I can literally go at least 2 months without charging it

Same here... I love my Braun.

this will probably sound like an extremely dumb question, but can you purchase an electric razor and carry it with you on the plane? sorry, i've never flown before. welcome to my world. a simple country life, where everything you need is less than 6 miles away.

electric shaver or razor? if anything you could buy one in COS possibly. Should have no problem with an electric shaver though.

I'm just going to bring a fusion out with me, and then have my parents bring out my electric razor on parent's weekend.

That's what I'm doing. Bringing like 2 extra razor heads in case. Each one lasts me like 2 months and they don't irritate when you have to shave against the current.

So....Ive always wondered. They say everyone hits their "breaking point" sooner or later, its just a matter of time. I wondered what does that entail? If you "break" at midday how do you continue the rest of the day? What do they mean exactly by "breaking point"?

I have such a baby face. I will prob only shave like 4 times during BCT lol

It probably means emotionally/mentally not physically. You just start accepting it and gain a new perspective but that's just a guess. I doubt they mean you just pass out.

i think it is just the point in time when you finally realize what you've got yourself into. for some people, it hits them like a tidal wave. for others, they casually set it in the past and move on. either way, i've been told to take it one day at a time. there will be days where you'll physically/mentally break down and wonder why the @$%* you're here. that's where support from family and friends come in. and that's also where you need to tell yourself, "tomorrow's just another day."

That's true, and the days get very long and one week will seem like months, i havent done anything quite as long as bct but thats how it was when i did a mini bootcamp (Devilpups) and a leadership training seminar for JROTC

the best advice i was given was to take things one meal at a time. Just focus on getting to breakfast, then lunch, then dinner, then taps and repeat this everyday until the end of basic and try to have as much fun as possible

im getting kind of nervous now that we only really have 4 days till i day

Nope it means physically.

You will find that after the first week, breaking is the norm! You push through it, keep a good attitude, and try your best. It's about learning your limits and your attitude under pressure. Help your classmates and show the cadre your best.

How long does it stay charged while running?
Mine turned on while being trucked to Jack's Valley. "What's that faint buzzing sound comming from my bag?...oh...I guess I won't be using the electric razor!"

wow that does suck. well im like flyersboy too and don't need to shave too often. and it has a decent charge too. Specs list shaving time as 10 days. I don't see a truck ride being that long. lol. plus somehow i've never actually shaved with a razor-only an electric shaver
