Will someone please advise on how to block the ad's that have recently appeared on our forum? Thx

Are you getting pop up ads? I don't get any using chrome and uBlock extension.

There are some spam inside threads and some spam threads, but not many and the admins seem to be on top of most of that.

I am using Chrome on a laptop. Can I add the uBlock extension on a laptop?

I did & it works! Thank you

I used to use Add Block, and it works great. There was some news that ABP was getting paid to white list some pop up add services. That is when I switch to uBlock Origin.

Maybe one of the admins could chime in. Does this site get funding from pop up ads? I would gladly turn off my pop up blocker if it helped fund and maintain the site.

Good Evening,

For most of the forum's existence, we have displayed ads to support the forum and continue to provide the community as a free service to our members and guests. To ensure that ads do not interfere with the user experience, we only use inline banner ads. If you are seeing any other type of advertisement when visiting the site, such as a pop-up ad, it is almost certainly not from our site.

While we understand that some users choose to use add-ons which block ads, please note that ads enable us to offer this site as a free service. Thank you for your understanding and please let us know if you have any questions.

So you don't think that the guys that work so hard on Adblock Plus to thwart big online media's attempts to slide ads past their filter deserve to earn a dollar? Additionally, the whitelist of non-intrusive ads can be opted out of. You don't have to allow those ads. I've been seeing some lately on Facebook and Google, but it blocks YouTube ads, which is really what I hate the most.

When I first read your response I read it as an attack on me, but after reading it again I will take it as a constructive comment. My response was to what I read and herd from the media. And I wanted to let it be known that there are other free alternatives out there that imho work as good if not better. uBlock works too good sometimes It requires permission to get through links that are advertising.
