Boarded/Under Consideration

Thanks. Just to clarify more, the personnel from the school who called up was from ROTC scholarship department

That's a pretty standard call, they see that your daughter has been boarded and they are letting her know that they would like her to attend their program if she receives a scholarship, it also means they would like her to attend even if she does not receive the scholarship. Make sure she sends a reply thank you for the call, it's always a good idea to keep in touch with the schools/programs that she is considering attending. The main reason is if she does not receive a scholarship it's nice to have had built at least a small relationship with the Battalion so they know her when she gets there, Battalions can offer campus scholarships to there cadets so always good to network.

Best of luck to your daughter.

Thank you. Totally make sense. BTW, just curious if your son did pursue his military career. Appreciate your thoughts.

Yes, both my older and younger sons went through AROTC. Older son commissioned 2012 and younger son 2015. Both branched Aviation.

Older son flew Kiowas, about 2 years after he graduated flight school they retired the Kiowa. He made the decision to go to Selection for Civil Affairs and was selected. He is now close to completing the nearly 1 1/2 year CA course at Ft. Bragg.

Younger son completed flight school for Blackhawks and is currently stationed in Hawaii (Lucky Dog).

It's been a long and winding road.

Is it a bad sign if my DD still shows “boarded, under consideration” and not strictly “boarded” at this point?

With all the new messages cadet Command seems to be posting, I wouldn't worry too much about it until the official notifications are made.

My son's status went back to boarded. He was boarded before the first board in October. I am hoping for him its not a bad sign. His SAT is 1300, ACT is 28 and GPA is 3.5. He has taken 4 AP classes and several honors. He is a sea cadet, a wrestler and football player and works part time.

Also my son got an email reply from his ROTC guy at the college he would like to attend. He said the results should be out next week. So the fat lady hasn't sung yet!!
