Some people like their fries that way!
I've worked at five guys (whoops did I give up my bias?[emoji1] ) for over a year now and people ask for extra well done fries all the time. Personally I (and most of my co-workers) love soggy fries! Seasoned with Cajun, dipped in fry sauce (ketchup, mustard, bbq, hot sauce, mayo, and Cajun). Mmmm... Definitely recommend Cajun seasoning if you like any spiciness at all!I asked for well done fries once. Imagine a french fry with the crunch of a potato chip, i.e. potato chip sticks.
Can we please just all agree that In and Out is nothing more than a (very slightly) glorified McDonalds? I've never understood the obsession, but the wife's CA relatives will fight to the death for them. I dread visiting because they get food from there as if it's some sort of singular treat. Blech.
I'll just leave this here:

You are of course entitled to your opinion, but I respectfully disagree.
Fresh ingredients, consistently prepared makes for a much better experience than MCD's.

As you say, we are each entitled to our opinion.
I have to agree on this. Diners always seem to be the best. Can't say I have ever been displeased.Holes-in-the-wall are a complete category on their own! I confess to always checking for the Diners, DriveIns and Dives locations anywhere I go.
I will try this one since I will be in the area. Thank you.My new obsession is HopDaddy Burgers. None in Ft Worth, but 3 in Dallas and many more in Texas, AZ, TN & one in Denver. They take 5 Guys to a whole new level. Their motto is "Hot Buns & Cold Beer". (And their shakes are amazing!!!)
**I don't quite get the Whataburger obsession either, but I am not a Texas native, so that could be the reason?
