In the exact same boat. Four year to GT and still don't know if accepted. Glad to know there are others out there. Is it correct to assume that USNA tries to get most decisions out before their Spring Break which starts March 20th? Also because the Ivies announce their regular decision acceptances on March 31 and a lot of the time are competing for similar students? This is our first time through this process....DS has a four -year NROTC scholarship to Univ of Penn but we don't know yet if he will be admitted there yet either. Lots of anxious waiting but so very proud of my son for his accomplishments in making it this far..Congrats to all the 2019 BFE's received !!!
Well Friday the 13th brought no news so that keeps us in the hunt.
I was actually hoping nothing came today as it's our 9yo son's b-day and I want the focus to be on him for the day.
There is always tomorrow.
Congrats!! It's always awesome to have a BFE, even if it is your "fallback" position!!Mom 529,
I understand the dread of the deposit to plan B. We went to visit plan B and I couldn't even ger him to look at dorms. It just felt blah and it is my Alma Mater and he would be 5th generation on my side to attend. Please don't give up hope yet. It is easy to get discouraged, but even if he doesn't get in this year, he will be a much stronger candidate next year. Almost all of those on the 2nd ride seem to indicate what seemed like a set back in the end was a great prep year.
You never know! He has a plan and it may not match with ours at the moment. We had pretty much ruled out USMA, assuming that would be the first TWE my DS would get, however today out of the blue he received a BFE from them. I think it is too early to give up hope! I am cheering for you!
Thank you for the encouragement, nukepharm, and how wonderful to have a BFE to USMA. My son has two friends there and they absolutely LOVE IT. My DH keeps reminding me of HIS plan for our son, but sometimes I'm just blind and stubborn. Thanks for the kind words. I don't know how I would cope if it weren't for my forum friends!Mom 529,

Congrats on your NROTC scholarship. DS was not accepted to his Plan B to which he was awarded a NROTC scholarship last year. Many advised him to contact that school to let them know about the scholarship award -- the thinking was that they might reconsider him. He opted not to do that, but instead applied to have the scholarship transferred to his next choice, an in-state school for him. That's where he ended up. So, with your scholarship, you may want to consider letting your plan B know about your scholarship if you haven't already. Also, you might want to reach out the the NROTC unit at your Plan C to see how hard it will be to transfer the scholarship there if needs be. There was a waiting list for NROTC at DS's Plan B, but he made it into the unit. Of course, keep stalking the mailbox for that BFE!Got waitlisted at my plan B today which I have a four year NROTC scholarship to. Still no news from USNA, still in the waiting game, still stressed.
