C/O '26 parents - place to commiserate and share. Roller coaster for the next 3 years!

Quick visit with the dude this weekend so we could bring him down his running shoes, which he left over Spring break by accident. Just grabbed some ice cream and popped in a few shops with the littlest dude and wifey. Nice, chill visit.

He's still working past his break-up with his GF, but at least he doesn't seem to be in the mindset that he should leave anymore. :eek2:

3/C in his company have their pro-know test today, I think (or whatever they call it as Youngsters). He didn't seem to stressed about it.
Mine had PCA (professional competence assessment) yesterday. Consensus was that it was hard. Glad he is in a better place about staying.

Yeah, that was what he called it. Have to see how he did.

He said if you failed it twice, you got a "D" on your military bearing grade, or whatever that is known as.

... with C/O 2024 Graduation fast approaching, I can't help counting the C/O 2026 remaining months: 27 months as of April 2024. Post graduation, I already accepted that he will be destined for the South China Sea. Seems like there are weekly confrontations with the paper tiger involving fire hoses, laser beams, blocking, and ramming. Since he is our only kid and looking ahead, we decided to stay around the area... farther south by Patuxent Naval Air Station. Good base for Space-A travel access at Dover AFB, Andrews AFB, and BWI Space-A terminal. We're also planning to help him buy a starter house in the area.

... just bought the 3/C portrait. Among the options were two pics with Rayban... really?
Didn't buy those. So two more to go, 2/C and graduation.

Yeah, my kid's pic was pretty scraggly bed head as I think they took the one with the cover on first. I will probably buy a covered one versus the regular one this year. Kid gave me a set of his Plebe shoulder boards which I'll put with the pic, and hoping to get a set for each year to put with the corresponding picture. Will then put together something with all 4 for graduation (hopefully).

I am hearing they scored on a curve. . .And threw out certain questions. . .
DD got a raw 70, curved up to 82
Roommate got a raw 68, curved up to 90
--> Got more of the thrown out questions wrong.
ok, maybe USNA really is getting softer if the lower your score the better your grade.

Mine just got the Pass. I guess they have to check with Co to get actual grade.

...so another banter.

*Test. Kaput, retest next week. It builds resiliency.

*Swim. He asked for his Pre-USNA swimming training schedule. This must be related to the 3/C swim test. I sent the sprint and combat swim schedules.

*3/C Formal Portrait. Is there a way to officially protest why a set of barbells were permanently superimposed on the portrait? Parents have different options on what background to place on the portrait after the barbels. On my son's portrait, the upper end of the barbell, about 65%, was touching his lower jaw... appearing like a "bearded Mid." Crazy, 🥜

Trip to the Yard today to take the littlest dude out for a bit so wifey could get a break (Spring break for him, so been couped up for days). We watched noon formation, which I hadn't seen in a while. Kid's company is in a back corner, so no Waldo sighting.

But, we met him in the Mid Store after making a small tuition payment for about 15 minutes before he headed off to class, and we headed home.

Nice, chill visit.
