My DS application opened this morning ;) first of my children to want this , new to the process and to the site ! I guess the big journey begins now !...fingers crossed his stats get him in we come from a small town in IL

Welcome to the roller coaster. This site is a wealth of information and a great secondary source for questions. We too are small town IL and our first is heading to NWP on a Falcon scholarship. It's continues to be a fun ride. The folks on this forum are terrific and have "been there, done that" so you are in the right place. Best of luck as you begin the journey.

My DS is also applying and we are also from a small town in IL. He is the first in the family as well. We are so proud of him for choosing this route. Let the journey begin. Best of luck to you all.

I'm the medical guy. Google "DoDMERB." Hit "Questions about the process." Read the document completely

BRYMOM1, Jll = Parents = read paragraph 4
DS of BRYMOM, DS of JLL, JSmestead and FlyFalcon, = applicants = read the entire document :wiggle:

I really hope that I do not look stupid here , still trying to learn the site and everything else .....I am not seeing what your taking about when I google it ?

Found it! Thanks, probably wouldn't have known about this other wise. Honestly thought I had broken some kind of medical rule by saying what state I was in and you were giving me a heads up. This is really helpful and I'll reread it a few times to make sure I got everything/wrote down what I need to to know.

Thank you again!

Find DoDMERB website.
If you land on a page that talks about Security, hit Continue.
You should find a page that looks like the screenshot below.
Look at the left-hand menu. Work your way through every one of the menu items. That is the distillation of years of the same questions.

For some, this step is difficult. I was one of them but in the end found it to be vital to both the experience and the learning process for our DS. I agree with flieger that this is sage advice.

No one ever looks stupid other than me. Send me an email: lawrence.e.mullen.civ@mail.mil; paste your posting to the email and I'll square you away:wiggle:
😂😂 just now seen this but got it all figured out paragraph 4 was a great read ! Yes it is hard for us parents to let go , especially with our last one but it is their lives not ours indeed, was my DS that got to this point not I as I couldn’t even find the DoDMERB website 😂😂

Good on ya. I've been doing this for 28 years! You're not the first "PARENT"...even in the last half hour....and you won't be the last...even in the next half hour. BUT, you're on notice now :wiggle:
