I hope they try to do something to create the communication channel between current Mids and CVW students. Exchange numbers for texts, a zoom call, perhaps? DS had slept in Bancroft Hall for soccer camp, STEM and NASS. The true value in CVW for him was hearing Plebes and youngsters talk in the room, at night, with nobody else around. In retrospect, he said on Christmas leave, nothing can "prepare" you for Plebe year. But, the books he read, Grant Vermeer's podcasts (sadly no longer available) and CVW helped him have a good idea of what was coming. CVW gave him a deeper conviction that he was enough like these people who were figuring it out to know that he could, too.Except when you’re a plebe, I’ve been told!
The survey that came before this email noted that the invite is going only to those who have LOA or an Appointment.

Yes, I know that they are just going to those individuals. My question is are those individuals just randomly opening those emails to this invite? Or did they request a visit and are now being granted one?
Cannot say about others, DD answered yes to the question of visit on the survey. My data set is 1.

I had a LOA at the time of the survey. I got my appointment within that period and now and I received the email for the visit. They may have just lost some people in the chain thread .
It was magical for me even through the hell of plebe summer and plebe year. The magnificent facilities, the YPs, the views it was all so very amazing to me and to be honest, my heart still skips a beat whenever I see it, even from 40Kft flying to DC (has happened)Except when you’re a plebe, I’ve been told!
Couldn’t agree more, and I was never even a plebe. I make excuses to go out there and have made the Yard a detour whenever I’m traveling back east, whether for work or pleasure. Having a parents ID card that allows me on at anytime is part of the magic. I’ll sure miss it when DD is done.
Maybe they will let parents/guardians into the gift shop, or else who pays for/approves the merch? Cha-ching!
